Car description |
---|
Due to some unexpected life events, I am regrettably putting up for sale my Suzuki Samurai project. It runs good, has a clear title in hand and is already fun to drive. It is a project that just needs to be finished. I purchased this planning on making a cool all-purpose off-road vehicle but circumstances have forced me to sell it in the middle of the project. I believe I drove it about 200 miles since I bought it and only on roads.
Considering that situation, I have purchased a LOT of parts for it that are new and never installed that come with it. Please read the following carefully.

Considering that situation, I have purchased a LOT of parts for it that are new and never installed that come with it. Please read the following carefully.
Vehicle Information
- 1986 Suzuki Samurai
- 66,199 miles, believed to be original
- NO RUST anywhere that I can find. These things rusted to pieces on the showroom floor, but this one is incredibly rare to not have rust like this one. Even when I removed the factory lower rockers to put the Low Range Off-Road ones on, there was only minor surface rust, which was sanded off and then painted over with POR15. Normally this area is rusted through.
- Starts and runs well once warmed up. Needs a bit of a tune to make it start a bit easier when cold. However, once warm, just bump the key and it fires right up and purrs like a kitten.
- Includes side doors and soft top (shown in one picture)
- Soft top is very good condition. Windows are clear, only one small 2" rip that has been fixed.
- Seats (both front and rear) are in incredible condition. No rips, no damage.
- This is like a 4x4 go-kart. Just not as fast. At all.

Important things to note before buying:
- The first thing to note is that this is not meant to be an everyday driving vehicle. Short trips and trail riding is what it can be used for. As-is it has a top speed of about 60mph.
- The heater system was completely removed and was not replaced. I was going to go with an electric system but didn't get to that.
- The dash is from an updated 88.5+ Samurai
- As part of the Sidewinder carburetor being installed, the ECM and all wiring to the ECM has been completely removed as it was no longer needed
- Windshield wiper motor needs to be adjusted or replaced. Works intermittently.
- There are no catalytic converters on this vehicle, so it is not something that will currently pass emissions
- While the vehicle runs and drives fine, you will need a trailer to take delivery as there are so many extra parts that they all simply won't fit in it.
- The radio system worked great but needs to be checked for a loose wire or bad ground somewhere. After removing the heater I cannot get the radio to get sound to the speakers. It is likely an easy fix.
- The winch was never used. However, it has a frozen solenoid. I have a new solenoid, it just needs to be replaced.
- If you install the included ZOR seats, you will have to remove the center console. Sell it and make some of your money back.
- Again, this is a work in progress. It runs and drives well, but is a project that needs to be finished. Please do not expect this to be a show vehicle or every day driver without additional work being done on it.
Please ask any questions. Not interested in separating out parts. This is a package deal.
