THIS IS NOT A SALVAGE VEHICLE! EBAY REMOVED MY LISTING AND SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE BUS WAS A SALVAGE VEHICLE. WHEN I RAN A CHECK IT CAME UP THAT A SALVAGE TITLE WAS ISSUED IN PENNSYLVANIA. I BOUGHT THIS BUS IN 2003 IN CONCORD CALIFORNIA. THE BUS ONLY HAD ONE OWNER BEFORE ME. IT HAS BEEN TITLED IN MY NAME IN SOUTH CAROLINA SINCE MARCH 11TH 2004. IN 2008 IT WAS TOWED FROM THE PHL AIRPORT PARKING LOT AS PART OF A SCAM TO STEAL OUT OF STATE CARS. I REPORTED IT STOLEN AND TRACKED IT DOWN MYSELF TO A CHOP SHOP. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY BUS BACK WHILE MANY OTHERS HAD THEIRS STOLEN AND PARTED OUT FOR GOOD. I GUESS THE SHOP HAD APPLIED FOR A SALVAGE TITLE. ANYWAY ASK QUESTIONS AND HAPPY BIDDING! I WAS TOLD THAT IF I CONTACT THE DMV IN PA I CAN GET A LETTER SAYING THE CAR WAS NEVER TITLED THERE AND THAT IT WOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE PA SALVAGE LIST.I have camped in this bus hundreds of nights. My family of 4 has been around the US pulling a small camping trailer thru mountain passes no problem. The bus has Beher dealer installed front and rear air that less than 1 in a hundred do. It has a new compressor that has not yet been charged. This was an awesome daily driver that was perfect for the kids sports tournaments. It is easy and fun to drive and park. The kids are grown and we no longer need this so we are passing it to a 3rd owner. It needs a few little things which is reflected in the price. The speakers including the passive sub under the rear seat are good but the stereo is not. The forward fan switch is stuck in the off position, I have a new one for it. The hitch and muffler work fine but the muffler was dented when a car ran into the hitch. I waxed the old paint so many times it needs new paint (it is 32 years old.) This will make a great daily driver that can be slept in anywhere. It is just a mini van perfect for stealth camping. a person or so or a small family could live in it. Buy it, use it oR flip it. I have too many vehicles and not the time to make this one perfect. The bus is located in SC just south of Charlotte NC. There is no rust to worry about since this bus came from inland California and had been in the south not driven in snow and salt. This is a 1986 VW VANAGON converted to an ADVENTUREWAGEN in California. The 1st owner was in Concord California and I am the 2nd owner. I had Paul Pearce put in the 2.5 Subaru engine from a 2007 Legacy that was rear ended with less than 37k miles. Small car parts were used. The Automatic trans was rebuilt using Audi parts and a Peloguin torque biasing rear end installed. The bus has big brakes up front and disks in the rear with stainless lines. All the fuel lines and the tank were replaced with new and the drive axels rebuilt with German parts. It has 8 Ronal wheels with 5 BFG TA 16 inch tires. There are lift springs with pads in the rear and KYB shocks. The inside is like a weekender with a 3 across rear seat that makes into a large bed and removable jump seats that fold up. It has 7 seat belts 4 with shoulder harnesses. The paint is original and it could use new. The odometer stopped working but the speedo works. It has an 2 inch receiver. Would be 40 to 50K if perfect.
