Description
This is a rare opportunity to own a very rare US federalized STI V1, or STI VERSION. This is a 1994, the very first iteration, almost a test bed or prototype for what would start a 25 year legacy. Subaru's Unlike later STI models, the STI Version was built from WRX removed from the Subaru production line in Yajima and brought to STI's Makita plant at a rate of 100 per month. The cars were then built at STI essentially by hand. Interiors were removed, the engines were replaced with hand built closed-deck 2 liter blocks with forged pistons, a newly designed lighter weight valve lash arrangement and even hand polished intake ports on the heads. This could be one of the most special engines in a Subaru production car. Built by hand at STI with good pistons! Even the high-flow twin tip exhaust system was outsourced to Fujitsubo because they didn't have a high flow in-house model. The hood is aluminum, the spoiler, unlike later STI is also formed aluminum. It's the largest spoiler ever placed on a production Subaru. Inside there's a deep bucketed seat interior, a Nardi steering wheel only seen in this model and the WRX RA from 1993 and shift knob This is an Acropolis version #87 of 100. This car can be outfitted with period-correct aftermarket wheels of your choice at an additional cost. All major service will be up to date upon delivery with records. I would be happy to arrange delivery within the USA with the buyer's help. I will make myself available for a transporter. The car could also be driven anywhere from the Boston area. Car is currently titled in Massachusetts and kept in safe indoor storage.
