Car description |

1987 Subaru RX rally car. Last rallied at New England Forest Rally last year—made it through like a champ. After that, I did one ice race with it (and a rallycross here and there), but the car hasn't seen too much action. It's been kept in a heated indoor garage throughout the winter. The car is strong. As some of these RXs do, it sometimes has a light lifter tick on cold start, but goes away once the warmed up. Oil was recently changed, and I have fluids to do the trans as well. There's no major damage on the car. Some things here and there, but well, it's a rally car. There is some rust, but nothing that would prevent me from sending it down a stage. According to the previous owner, the cage was built by Dave Clark Motorsports and updated by Dave Clark in 2012 Transmission feels good, clutch feels good. Light gear grind sometimes into second/third if you're really going for it. Only issue that would currently prevent me from driving the car: Last time I drove it, it would randomly start pulling to the right and the steering wheel would vibrate violently. I would stop and then continue driving, and it wouldn't happen. I was told it could be a braking issue, but haven't looked into it greatly. I'd also recommend doing at least rear wheel bearings. Harnesses are good/were replaced last year. Comes with: Spare trans that I got with the car A rear diff Almost brand new mounted winter tire set (on the car) Set of used gravels (used at NEFR), mounted New fuel filter Superpro poly bushing kit for the rear suspension and rear diff And countless other spare parts that I have to organize Clean NY title. SCCA logbooked (but good to go for today's events. Again, ran ARA NEFR last year). Basically looking to get what I bought it for/a bit less than what I've put into it. The car came from Idaho (paid to ship it here) and have done some light work. Car is located in Highland Falls NY (Hudson Valley) and can be shown if requested. It's registered and basically ready to rally.
Car is sold as is with a clean NY title. More pics available upon request. More pics here from when I bought it (from the previous owner). Car still looks the same. http://s885.photobucket.com/user/emk_cruisers/library/1987%20Subaru%20RX%20rally%20car?sort=3&page=1 Also featured in these stories: https://www.roadandtrack.com/motorsports/a10359302/the-fun-of-codriving/ http://www.thedrive.com/opinion/12612/prepping-my-subaru-rally-car-for-my-first-big-race-is-terrifying http://www.thedrive.com/opinion/12791/5-things-budget-racing-legend-bill-caswell-taught-me-at-my-first-stage-rally
