Car description |
---|
This car is ready to drive daily.
I am the original owner - my daily driver until recently. Body and frame are rust-free with no major dents. Car has been in AZ and Southern CA since 1993. 27 years' worth of use and some crusty paint do not effect performance.
-New battery
-1,300 miles on oil change
-AZ State tags and Maricopa County emissions - good through June 15, 2018.
All replaced within the past 5K miles:
-Cylinder heads professionally rebuilt by Phoenix Cylinder Head
-Hoses, belts, timing belt, crank seal, cam seals, head gaskets, valve cover gaskets
-Rebuilt A/C compressor (see note below)
-Tires (see photo)
-Brakes - new calipers, rotors and pads up front, and replaced just the pads on the rear.
-Alternator
The negatives:
-Air Conditioning needs recharge - blows cool but not cold. Old style R-12 system works amazing when it's charged. Compressor was replaced 4,500 miles ago, but that was 3 years ago and I believe it will need some new o-rings to hold a charge.
-Driver side window does not go down (probably the motor.)
-There is a very slow leak in the power steering pump. I believe it may be the tank o-ring, as opposed to the pump itself. I keep a rag stuffed under it and change it every few months. Takes maybe a couple of ounces of fluid in that time. (It has been like this for at least 15 years and my system seems to work.)
-I replaced the passenger side control arm bushing 3K miles ago with an aftermarket type. It fits and works, but I had a new bushing put into the original housing and have it ready to install - if you want to put it back to OEM.
-Interior needs to be vacuumed.
