This car had an amateur restoration that was never finish by the previous owner.

They welded patch panels in floor, fenders and new rocker panels. The car was painted its original Bermuda Brown color 29 years ago, but still holding up nice except a few nicks, cracks and chips. The Hawk needs restoration finished before you can drive it! The brakes don’t work! The tires are nice, but are old. It has new emblems, nice trim, new seat upholstery and carpet.

This car has been sitting for 29 years until we recently got it running, but needs a new home willing to finish and enjoy a rare hawk.

Details:

VIN: 64V 9129

Engine # JTS J327

Model: Gran Turismo Hawk

Millage: 60,027

Body Tag# 857

Body

There was body work done and painted 29 years ago, but still holding up ok.

The trim is very nice with great stainless and has all new emblems and exterior mirrors.

Brakes

The brakes don’t work!

The brake system needs to be restored and always make sure any fast car will always stop safely.

All parts needed are available for this car through Studebaker Parts vendors.

Transmission

Has the Power Shift Automatic Transmission. It shifts into gears fine, but pan gasket leaks (comes with a new trans gasket & filter)

Tires

Nice looking black wall tires with plenty of tread, but are unsafe for highway after sitting so long.

Interior

Interior seat upholstery is very nice.

New seat belts and carpet.

Needs door seals and cat whiskers (comes with uninstalled wind lace)

Instrument panel and dash are also very nice, but some gages and radio not working (missing rear speaker).

It’s missing drivers door panel, mirror and center consule.

Headliner has burn hole (comes with a new headliner and a new rear window gasket).

Engine

We got the engine running and replaced the fuel pump, fuel & oil filters, valve stem and valve cover seals.

Heater core bypassed, so assume needs replacement.

New points, rotor, cap, plugs and plug wires.

New coil, ignition switch and battery.

It starts fine, then stalls until warmed up, then runs nice once warmed up.

It doesn’t have the original carburetor and the supercharger doesn’t work. Also needs correct air filter and tension arm for blower belt.

Mufflers have holes (need replacement).

Glass

Glass is fine with no cracks, but a few scratches.

This is your chance to own (1 of only 70) R2 GT Hawks produced for that year, with far fewer still existing.
