1965 Studebaker Daytona Wagonaire
We purchased this car in South Carolina back in 2004 and it was completely restored the following year in Minnesota. Since then it has been driven to countless car shows with a current odometer reading of 7,983 miles. It has been very dependable with us traveling to shows more than 250 miles from home.
With the unique sliding roof, it always draws a lot of attention (and trophies) at car shows.
This Wagonaire is equipped with the following:
V-8 Engine with 4-barrel Carter WCFB Carb
3-speed automatic transmission
Power steering and brakes
Power rear window
Fold-down “step†on rear tailgate
Folding Vanity mirror in Glove Box
Original dash clock- It Works!
Original Deluxe AM Push button radio – It Works!
Period correct 8-track player with FM radio with original owners’ manual – It Works!
Accessories Included:
Match Box Wagonaire model painted to match
Studebaker Portable Radio
Studebaker First Aid Travel Kit, Lubrication Kit with Lub-A-Graph, Handy Oil, and Lub-A-Lite
Studebaker Fender Shield- used in back for display
Complete album of restoration pictures, including at least 10 sales brochures, original invoice from Studebaker (showing all options and factory undercoating), and lots more.
The engine had a complete professional overhaul at a local machine shop.
The car was completely disassembled and professionally painted.
The only rust was in the rocker panels. We located new ones and they were replaced.
A new-old stock dash pad, steering wheel and speedometer were located and installed.
They show very well.
The interior was completely redone including seats, carpet, door panels and headliner.
We’ve included a picture of the rear seat folded up to show the under-seat storage area and how it was finished.
The Wagonaire starts, runs, drives and stops very well. It’s easy and a pleasure to drive.
Everything works …all lights, switches, gauges (including gas gauge).
Power rear window works with both key and dash switch.
An electric fuel pump was added to address starting issues when the car sat for any length of time.
This Wagonaire shows very well. It’s not perfect, as it was restored a number of years ago and has been driven … it’s not a trailer Queen! The paint has held up very well!
There is some unusual fading on the rear carpet, as shown, and there are some minor blemishes, hardly noticeable.
Since being in Florida, it has developed some squeaks or creaks in the chassis when it first starts moving. It may possibly need some new body mounts ???, but that’s more than I’m ready to deal with since it drives just fine.
It should be seen and driven. We could meet you at the Ft Myers or Punta Gorda airport.
We have a restorable roof rack in Minnesota which could be shipped at the buyers expense.
