Car description |
---|
Recently rebuilt car with very recent paint and interior. I believe paint is Eastwood Mink Coat Metallic, as about a quart has been included. A better job could have been done on the headliner but it looks fine. Most of the cars stainless trim is original but with very few defects and most of the bright work is NOS from Newman & Altman. Car actually has originalStudebaker glove box owners Manueland options book. Bumpers are original and in pretty good shape. Rear bumper chrome at plate mount has some rough areas. The few body areas that had rust were repaired or the panel replaced.
Golde Skytop appears originaland is as was installed by Studebaker and in good shape and works as it should.
Engine is a Studebaker "cloverleaf" stamped, full flow oil filter, 289 HD dealer replacement engine. Evidentlyhas very few miles on it. Engine was partially disassembled for inspection and is all standard sized and in excellent shape. Reassembled with new seals and gaskets. Someone in the past replaced the AFB with a new Edelbrock carb. As can be seen GM alternator replaces generator. Engine runs smooth, quiet and strong. Car is a great driver. I drive the car often and no leaks, no smoke.
New clutch and cover and throw out bearing. 4 speed works perfectly. TT rear end also. All brake hydraulics appear new as do shoes. Front end bushings have been replaced and is tight and accurate and car drives well. Almost new radials and spare.
All gages, motors, wipers, clock and so forth work as they should. Radio is a new "classic" AM/FM replacement. Windows operate smoothly, glass all originaland good.Remember, Much of this car is original and not perfect but is in great shape considering its age.
