Car description

1963 Studebaker Champ Pickup 259ci V8, 3spd Manual, Long Bed VIN: 63VZ9634 Serial: E7-20743 Engine: V390661 Cab: 8E-T6 Exterior: - Please take a look at the video along with the listing, as the truck is shown in detail. Blemishes are all shown close-up and in direct sunlight. Blemishes include a handful of minor chips and scratches. - Chrome is pretty well-presented throughout. There are some small dings in the chrome in various places, but there is minimal oxidation. - Glass and light lenses are clear and crack-free throughout. - Wheels... are in nice shape. A tiny bit of surface rust around the outer edge of the steel, but polished hubcaps are excellent. The truck needs tires immediately. We can source and mount tires prior to shipping out, if desired. Interior: - Very bare-bones interior. Bench seat wears a cover, presumably because the tan original seat underneath is well worn. - Gauges are functional with the exception of the odometer. 59,367 miles on the nonfunctional odometer. True mileage is unknown. - Headliner has a burst seam - Just bare floors in the car, no carpeting. - Ford radio is not functional. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look at the underbody photos and video, as it is covered in detail. Underbody is nice and dry. Some superficial surface rust, structurally very sound. There is however one spot on the forward passenger floor, which has been patched with a license plate. - The truck is a V-code 259ci V8. While we aren’t positive if it’s the original unit or not, the truck does currently have a correct 259ci V8 in it. Engine number V390661. - The truck runs, drives, and stops quite well, but we wouldn’t consider this a totally dialed-in driver just yet. When we got the car it had been sitting for almost 15 years, so we changed plugs, drained the fuel tank, and changed the filter. It’ll run smoothly, stay cool, hold an idle, brake effectively and straight, and track straight down the road. However, the truck does need tires and there is a good bit of play in the steering at 40-50mph. With any questions, requests, or to discuss purchasing, please reach out to Jake at 773-303-6122.
