This 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk, Keeping Up in Changing Times
Hello there, My name is Al Rivera, I am a broker and I have been hired by the family to sell this car. I have used my digital camera and the pictures are as I shot them, the pictures have not been touched up, photo chopped or manipulated to make sure the car looks good.
What a handsome car! Studebaker made great cars, and this one of them. This car comes in all black and has a beautiful burgundy interior. The upholstery is comfortable and made of Naugahyde. This car has factory Air conditioning and works beautifully and it blows cold. This is a Sunny Southern California Car. Always garaged kept, and well maintained. Tires are brand new and brakes in good working order. This car is ready to go! It has been repainted, and the paint shows some stress marks in some of the corners of the exterior. The car is not a restoration, and not totally original, but it is a Studebaker Silver Hawk. The best part is that, the owner had the engine rebuilt about 500 miles ago and put in a much bigger cam. At the same time, installed a new 4 speed manual transmission. He has done a lot of work himself on the car, as well. This car comes with all the technical bulletins, mechanics handbook, and repair manuals, and receipts for services and repairs. Noted on the rear pillars it has two "T's" circled. The two T's stand for Twin Traction. The owner installed new aftermarket aluminum rims. The car runs like a dream, handles wonderfully. This 289 engine with the 4 barrel carburetor was called the "Sweepstakes Motor." it was considered the highest performance engine of 1957. It's nice to see that Studebaker's are still on the road today. We feel this example has been placed at a fair price, and at the same time, we welcome any reasonable offer. Thank you for looking.
The Studebaker Hawk! Who knew?
In 1956 we got the Studebaker Flight Hawk, Power Hawk, Sky Hawk and the Golden Hawk. In 1957 we got the Studebaker Silver Hawk. Silver Hawk and Golden Hawk remained through 1959, then in 1960 and 1961 their last year were just called the Studebaker Hawk. The Studebaker Silver Hawk had two engine choices. The Studebaker Champion 6 cylinder engine or the President 289 V8 engine. You were given choices of a two barrel or a four barrel carburetor. Silver Hawks did a good job, of giving people choices, but then again, Studebaker was a strong company despite the mergers, such as Packard, in the later years the company was known at Studebaker-Packard.
