Car description |

1950 Studebaker Champion CoupeThis is a great project car! While many Studebakers over the years have succumbed to the cancerous rust seen so often in the mid-west, this car has survived relatively rust free! This car would make an awesome street machine or is even complete enough to conduct a complete restoration. This Studebaker has a clear Montana title in my name and I will also provide the buyer with a notarized Bill of Sale. It is my intent to describe this vehicle in as much detail as possible and be very forthcoming with its condition. I encourage everyone to read this description, look at each of the photos, and contact me via the eBay message board or by phone - Chad @ (406)403-6921 - with any questions you may have.
Body/Sheet Metal/Trim: This car is solid! The only rust that I have been able to locate is the small amount visible inside the trunk on the floor. Even at that, it is not rusted through - the inner wheel wells are solid and the corners of the trunk may require a little TLC. The rockers and the door bottoms are also solid and free from rust. The fenders are all in good condition. The only down side to the sheet metal is the dent in the passenger side door and rear "fender" area. This is all very repairable, though, as the dent did not get into the framework of the door and it does not impact its ability to open and close well. The rear "fender" area are only dented as well, no tearing or rust to worry about. The floors are still carpeted, so not visible, but very solid when pushed on and banged on. The trunk lid and hood are also in great shape. All the trim is present with this car - light bezzles, light trim, window trim, and hood ornament - and it is all in good condition. The only thing I can think of that is missing from this car are the original hubcaps!
Interior/Glass/Trim: The interior of this car is complete and in very good condition. The seat covers are tattered, but the upholstery beneath them is in good condition with few rips. The carpet on the floors is still intact along with the door panels and the headliner. The dash is complete including the original radio. The glass in this car is good. While the side glass and windshield are flat and could be cut at the local glass shop, the rear glass is curved - it is in great condition! Again, all the trim is with this car except the hubcaps.
Engine/Transmission/Rearend: I know very little about the engine other than the engine compartment and engine itself are complete. The engine is stuck, but was told it turned free "not that long ago." Also, not much is known about the automatic transmission other than it shifts in and out of park and rolls freely in neutral. The car rolls and steers for a transporter.
