Studebaker's top of the line for 1948. Looks, runs and drives like 1948. All original condition except for re-paint in original Tulip Cream #2 a few years ago. Very straight body, no rust issues. Electric top in good condition. Odometer shows 62,000+ miles which I believe to be the true mileage. The 3 speed on the column shifts smoothly and the overdrive works great. It has 1947 license plate since Washington didn't make any plates in 1948. The Commander featured a longer wheelbase, more powerful engine, bigger tires, more chrome and a much nicer dash than the more common Champion. A similar convertible but in the lower Champion model sold for $45,000 last year at Mecum in Portland. I'm a reasonable man and my reserve is much lower than that.
