Car description |
---|
1962 Lark 4-door. 259 V-8, 3-speed column shift w/overdrive and hill hold. Runs and drives great, recent tires and radiator re-cored. Very good condition, mostly original survivor, 36,300 original miles. The following are the things that I know that are "conditions" with the car. I've owned the car 12 years and have put 16k miles on in that time:
- Oil leak from rear main seal. Rope type seal, drips a pretty good amount, drips less with more frequent driving.
- Slight oil leak from rear end.
- Suspension loud squeakleft front end, goes away after driving awhile. Noticed when car moves up and down, not from forward or backward movement.
- Left front head light rim is dented, I hit a deer last year. No other known damage from that incident.
- Rust bubbles on right front fender down by the quarter panel, see photo. Small rust area where master cylinder attaches to firewall. No other body rust to my knowledge.
- Right front fender has been off at some point, I assume due to an accident. The right front door, fender and nose pieces have been repainted and I suspect the chrome in those areas is new.
- Dashboard has sun cracks at the radio speaker grill.
- Tires have approx 3000 miles on them, not exactly sure.
- New radiator core several years ago.
- Exhaust smokes at times, but I believe it is running too rich, not burning oil. Had the carb rebuilt, better but still very rich.
