1950 Studebaker Champion Regal Deluxe
Bullet Nose Convertible
2nd Owner - Low Miles - California Car
Studebaker manufactured the prized Bullet Nose automobiles for only 2 years and 1950 was the first year. This low mile, two-owner Champion Regal Deluxe Convertible is a fine example that has been part of the huge Goat Hill Automobile Collection of Southern California for over 20 years.
This wonderful Studebaker was manufactured on July 20, 1950 and purchased new for $2,437.37 on August 2, 1950 from Mathis Motor Company according to the Studebaker build sheet, original purchase order and sales invoice that are all included with the car. (A 1941 Buick Special Convertible was traded in for $300 at the time of purchase.)
The California title/registration documents show that the car was first registered 1950 with a transfer of ownership in 1995. (We are also including 28 previous California registration cards/slips for this car.) In March of 1995, when the car was transferred to the current owners, the previous owner stated that his family was the original owners and that this car had only 52,000 miles on it.
This car still has the original engine (#728094) as evidenced by the build sheet, original sales invoice and registrations. We have a service receipt showing that a valve job and clutch adjustment were performed on November 14, 1986. On October 23, 1993 brake work was done along with a new water pump and lubing the speedometer cable and head. At that time 51,825 miles were reflected on the repair order.
The car starts, runs, drives and shows very well. At some point in the past, the car was painted and the interior was redone including the convertible top.
This fine Studebaker is equipped as follows-
Power convertible top with split glass rear window
Inline Straight Six Engine
3 Speed manual column shift transmission with Overdrive
Dual outside mirrors
Front & rear bumper guards
Windshield wipers
Center hubcaps with trim rings
White wall tires
Gauges- Amps, Gas, Oil, Temp
Radio
Convertible top boot
Spare tire/wheel in trunk
Undercoating from new
Trunk mat
Floor mats
We are also including an original color 1950 Studebaker brochure and the following spare parts: Pair of lower front grills, rear split window frame with glass, fender skirts that appear to be correct for this car but need to be painted black to match the car plus a couple other parts.
This beautiful Studebaker Champion has been part of the huge Goat Hill Automobile Collection for well over 20 years. All pictures were just taken for the eBay listing. Please check out the other cars that we are offering from this great Southern California auto collection.
