First let you know it's raining and wet outside, o once I can pull the car out and add additional photos I will. Clear title. What we have here is a extremly rare only one known to exist is this 1928 Studebaker Commander Victoria with the massive 354 cubic inch big Six engine. The Studebaker Commander held several world records in 1928 for Speed and endurance. These automobiles held just about every single record possible in 1928. This model was only in Production for approx 3 months in June thru August of 1928. After extensive research by myself and others and after contacting the Studebaker Museum in South Bend Indiana and some other well known Studebaker archivists there has yet to be another auto as of this make and model known to exist. This car was documented at the International Studebaker Show this year in St Louis MO it took 1st place in the pre war category as for its originality. This is a GH series Commander Victoria 4 passenger with the massive 354 cubic inch big Six. The car has a verynice 2 tonepaint job and a beautiful interior. It was restored many years ago but was never completed until recently. There are a few more things to do with the car but it Starts and Drives great it still maintains the 6 volt system. Chain driven starter at the front of the engine. Engine is original no mods. WhenI removed the wheels for inspection I noticed it had all new brakes pads, rake drums, heel Bearings, ydraulic shocks this is one of the first cars to equipped with a Mechanical fuel pump. These are the original Wood spoke wheels from 1928 it has like new Goodyear tires, quiped with mechanical brakes and they work extremely well.I had all chrome done 3 months ago. The interior is in new condition new oak moldings. It has a 3 speed manual transmission and shifts great some minor leakes underneath but does not effect its driving. In addition completely new wiring with modern fuse panel, eadlights and taillight / brakelightwork with new Hallogen fog lamps. The fog lights are not currently wired, owever wires are ran to the front for accessibility. curently no dash lamps wires are ran but not mounted yet. needs speedometor cable. needs new fuel sending unit but not hooked up to the guage yet. The wood floors are original to the car andstill have the Studebaker numbers stamped on them some wood was replaced behind the rear seat that blocks the trunk Again this is the only Studebaker GH Series Commander Victoria known to exist as of today body number 84 but 95 percent of thr rest of GH Series were 4 doors or roadster. All of the information on this was found on the internet please do your own research on these cars. In 1928 these automobiles were way ahead of there times. The cruising speed in this car in 1928 was above 60 MPH that was unheard of back then for a factory stock no modification automobiles They maintained an average of 62 Mph for approximately 8 days straight no breakdowns, hey held this record for at least 10 years this was all documented in many news papers at that time. You can google it and verify. This car has no rust kept inside 90 percent of its life. Undercarriage was protected by some type of tar/undercoating in turn protected its original wood and metal. Please contact me for additional informationI will try to get back to you as quick as possiblePlease be advised that This car is listed local and this auction will end immediately if the car sells locally. On Dec-26-15 at 08:02:52 PST, eller added the following information:
Ok many want to know about the paint the red paint is a close match to the original color. However it is currently a 2 stage paint with clear over it and a is a metallic, his paint is approx 10 years of age however it hasn't been out of a barn until 6 mos ago. I recently changed the fenders to the brown color just 3 months ago this is also a 2 stage paint. At this time I am not sure if the fender paint is time correct other then went from metallic to a solid color. When we looked for signs of old paint we found a similar paint color behind the door panels. In addition the series of Studebaker GH models were in production for such a short time there is very little info on the Gh series. In early 1928 the Studebaker corporation sent brosures to all of there 1928 automobiles and since these were produced in the middle of. The year it was never advertised in the 1928 brosures. and since it stop production only 2 months later was never in the 1929 brosures. And in many of the repair manuals or parts manuals the GH seies wasn't listed. However since the 1929 Studebaker President was so close parts of most of the car was available. The 1929 President and 1928 Studebaker Victoria had the 121 wheel base the parts were available other then the dash and motor parts were the 1928 and the 1929 presidents came equipped with the smaller straight eight engine.I appreciate the questions from all of you and I've done so much research on the 1928 Victoria I should be able to answer anything with ease.
