1958 Studebaker GOLDEN HAWK
Same senior owner last 25 years who had memories of this car when he was a Studebaker salesman in Oregon City, regon back in 1958. On his retirement he purchase this car and over time did a frame off restoration on a rust free, ery good original car to begin with. The car hasjust undergone another restoration of hundreds of hours to refresh it.
The paint is very high quality with few flaws. The panels are laser straight and all the factory lines are as they should be. Most of the rubber has been replaced and is soft. The original 57 year old glass is in nice condition. The chrome is high quality throughout. The stainless is exceptional including the large piece over the top at the rear window. (Very difficult to remove).
The 289 cubic inch motor runs like a watch with exceptional power with 275 HP. The Supercharger makes that wonderful sound and works as it did from the factory. The Flight-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission works smoothly. The Hawk has the twin traction control rear end. The steering and suspension are remarkable and drives nicely at 70 mph.
The interior was done in period colors and is like new with no wear. The dash is in lovely condition and has the original set of keys and a owners manual.
This is #158 of 878 Supercharged 1958 Golden Hawks. Since the frame off complete restoration the car traveled very few miles. Then restored again to a high level. Beautiful car for a museum or for shows.
