For sale is an absolutely immaculate 1965 Shelby Cobra Factory Five replica with just 3,750 miles since completion. This Cobra was purchased as a complete kit from Factory Five in 2007 and was first registered in late 2010, with the first road drive taking place in early 2011. This car was assembled with brand new parts when built (not one used part installed) and receipts documenting over $45,000 of parts alone remain with the car.
The drivetrain in this Cobra is incredibly stout. The engine is a 351 Windsor block with a 408 cubic inch stroker kit. It has an Eagle 4340 Forged rotating assembly with H-Beam connecting rods. 4" bore and 4" stroke with 10:1 compression. All-aluminum top end with Crane roller cam and roller rockers. A Holley 750 double pumper, mallory ignition and 7 quart Levy racing oil pan complete the engine package. The engine was built by Cassell Engines of Spokane, WA and made just north of 500 horsepower on the engine dyno.
The rest of the drivetrain consists of a Tremec TKO600 5 speed manual transmission, RAM Clutch, Quick Time Performance scatter shield, a 3 linked Ford 8.8 rear axle and a 3.55:1 posi-traction rear differential. The car also has Koni coilover suspension and ceramic coated side pipes/headers.
The body is absolutely beautiful and was finished in 2011 Toyota Blue with white stripes. All hinges, handles and body supports are hidden/blind. The paint has a few minor blemishes given its age, but no major road chips or defects to speak of.
The interior consists of the full Factory Five treatment complete with their seats, seat tracks, carpets, gauges, steering wheel, wind wings and heater. The interior appears as new. The car also has a trunk mounted battery with shutoff switch and fire extinguisher as well.
A set of 15" Halibrand replica wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle GT2 tires give this car a vintage look.
This Cobra was assembled with the utmost care and patience and was not rushed, as many others seem to be. In addition to the extensive record of receipts included with the sale, many photos documenting the build process are also included.
Please call Specialty Cars Trucks and Classics at 208-641-9852 to schedule an appointment to view this Cobra.
