Car description

The Shelby Cobra has to be one of the most exhilarating cars of all time. All those beautiful curves on a small lightweight roadster powered by a roaring V8 makes for a real thrill ride. But this example takes it all a step further with a monster fuel injected 572 cubic inch big block, 5-speed transmission, Corvette suspension, and more.
This Cobra is based on the well regarded Everett-Morrison platform. It was professionally built in 1998 and recently redone with new paint, a fresh motor, and FAST 2.0 engine management. One of the highlights of the Everett-Morrison design has to be the frame; its large tubular rails make for very rigid chassis which benefits both performance and longevity. Their fiberglass is of high quality as well. The red paint looks fantastic along with the black accents including the side pipes, tubular bumpers, roll bar, and Compomotive wheels with new Toyo tires (275 front, 315 rear). Note this car also has a complete soft top with full side curtains.
The engine is a pump gas 572 cubic inch Chevrolet with fewer than 100 miles on the build. It uses a Bowtie block with a full 4.5” bore and 4.5” stroke along with aluminum cylinder heads. It’s quite a sight within the confines of the Cobra’s engine compartment! There is a new FAST 2.0 system to control both fuel injection and ignition timing. This is a powerful self-learning system that is surprisingly easy to use and provides full touch screen control and monitoring. You don’t need a laptop computer and you can run with or without the touch screen.
Behind the big engine is a Richmond 5-speed transmission with a hydraulic clutch. The suspension and rear end are from a C4 Corvette. Note this is a fully independent setup which helps keep all four tires firmly planted. The car also has 4-wheel Corvette disc brakes along with power assisted steering.
The black interior is classic Cobra with twin low-back leather bucket seats. The dash houses a full set of black-faced gauges along with indicators and toggle switches. The FAST touch screen uses a GPS style mount so it can be easily removed should you want to stick with a vintage look. Note this is a complete car with an adjustable seat, working turn signals, and functional windshield wipers. There is also a horn and a parking brake. Many Cobras skip some or all of these features which can make registration difficult.
Driving a Cobra really is a thrill; the classic look, the healthy sound, and the wind rushing by create a fantastic experience. Combine that with everything this example has to offer and you’ve got a car you won’t stop thinking about.
