For sale is Shelby GLHS #284 in running condition, but in need of paint and interior restoration. Seats have a tiny cigarette burns and are a bit faded so a new set of seats would really increase the value but are NOT necessary.
Needs a good cleaning and some trim bits also. This is a low mileage car (64k ish miles) for the year. ALSO, one of the louvre mounts is missing. (louvres are fine)
This is an ACCURATE and CORRECT GLHS, not a "tribute" car.
The engine currently installed is a performance built 2.5L Turbo with mopar performance computer, high compression set-up, forged pistons, etc with oversize injectors and 3 inch exhaust. It SCREAMS down the road. MCAP (chrysler certified) mechanic who worked at a Dodge dealership when these were made confirmed the 2.5L build, computer, compression, injectors, etc.
The work was done to the car before I bought the GLHS. Fortunately, the guy who sold it to me was very honest and accurate. I don't think he knew about the injectors, or the forged pistons, etc .. but he knew about the fact that it was performance built and had the mopar performance computer.
Included with the car is the original Shelby 2.2L turbo engine and fresh components for a rebuild. includes correct Shelby valve cover, gaskets, etc.
Replacement OEM Shelby body decals are included, so once it's painted (paint code 9999 is factory), they can be easily affixed.
ALSO included is a 1986 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo with terrific seats and all the trim parts needed to fully restore the GLHS (lock knob, window crank, a/c unit, etc). The 1986 has about 110k on it. Louvre mounts and louvres are good on this one too. It has nice rims on it and a ton of other great components which may be sold if you prefer.
Headliner needs replacement on BOTH cars, but is readily available here on eBay ($26.99)
The turbo on the 1986 Dodge is blown, but I'm ALSO including a turbo unit (junkyard) in case someone wants to put them BOTH on the road.
MAKE NO MISTAKE .... this GLHS is a real one. It can be driven as is, but all the parts for a full restoration are also included.
I REALLY wanted to keep this vehicle because there are damn few left and aside from paint, every component is here and ready to install. I literally planned to build a huge garage just to restore this car, but I'm stuck in ZONING H**L. My project is stalled 7 months now with no end in sight!!
Now I need to sell these cars to comply with the township's "maximum number of vehicles stored outside. UGH!!
