Car description |

This Shelby GT 500KR was stored in the back of a warehouse for decades. It was found with a 427 SOHC engine sitting next to it and looked like it was an engine swap was planned, but never took place. It's an original 4 speed with factory air conditioning. It appears to have all original sheet metal and numbers matching engine and transmission. It's extremely solid and original. The mileage of 62,231 is believed to be correct. The Shelby retains all of it's correct VIN plates. All original interior in great condition.
It looks like the lastregistrationwas in 1974-75. The Shelby was repainted sometime in the 70's to a darker blue than the original Acapulco Blue. It was a 70's paint job.
The floors and frame rails are perfect! There's no rust in the battery tray area. I have not checked every item to see if it's original and date coded correct, other than the engine and transmission is correct. There's only minor rust in the lower rear quarters and on top of the shock towers. Again, it looks like the owner in the '70's had plans to install a 427 SOHC engine. The original tail pipes where removed and other items. Most items are still with the Shelby. Missing is the tail pipe, mastercylinder, A/C compressor and lines, the smog items and misc small items.
This not a show car. It has scratches and small dings and dents. In the 70's they cut a small in the driver's side struct tower probably they could change the spark plugs. The Shelby has not been driven since the 70's. It will needs lots of mechanical servicing to make it road worthy.
Anyone is welcome to come inspect prior to the end of the auction. Please bid with theintentionsof purchasing and paying for the vehicle. Clear title in hand. Thank you, Chris 816.590.7660.
