You are viewing a better than new 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback R Model Tribute. This car was totally restored, no bolt left unturned. All of the paint and bodywork was done in my body shop using only the best materials and done right as this was my personal project. I will describe the car below touching on the most important parts of the car, but everything is new. Car started life as a Dark Turquois A Code 4Speed GT.
Engine: Ford Motorsports 306/340hp crate engine. Dual Quad Blue Thunder aluminum intake with two 390 cfm Holley 4 barrels prepped and tweaked by Carl's Ford w/ Stelling and Helling air cleaners. Cobra aluminum 8 qt. oil pan and two Motorcraft remote oil filters, high volume oil pump. Pertronix breakerlessbillet distributor and coil, 4 row aluminum radiator w/ electric fan, Ron Morris adjustable motor mounts.JBA Ceramic coated full length headers as well as JBA full dual exhaust w/ H pipe and fully welded aluminum mufflers.
Transmission: Rebuilt Heavy Duty Borg Warner World Class T5 5 speed . Ram dual friction clutch, Modern Driveline Hydraulic clutch, Hurst shifter. Custom aluminum drive shaft.
Rearend: Quick Time Ford 9" w/ Detroit Locker and 411 gears, large 31 spline heavy duty axels.
Suspension, Steering & Brakes: Up front is a Global West Negative Roll adjustable Coilover suspension w/ QA1 adjustable coilover shocks, heavy duty sway bar, billet upper shock mounts and tower supports. All new steering linkage w/ Global West adjustment sleeves. Flaming River close ratio steering box and tilt column. Sebring steering wheel. TCIengine compartmentshock tower aluminum adjustable stiffening braces, TCI sub frame connectors, TCI triangulated 4 link coil over rear suspension. Four wheel disc brakes with stainless lines and braided hoses, CPP dual bowl master cylinder w/ 8" booster. Front and rear functional brake cooling ducts, MICO Lock brake (used as parking brake or line lock, nice). American Racing Torq Thrust D Wheels 15X8 w/ 245 60 15 Rear & 15X6 205 60 15 front. BFG Radial T/A Tires, if the Buy It Now option is used I will include another set or Torq Thrust's with Comp T/A racing tires.
Fuel: Atomic Racing 22 gal. fabricated custom aluminum fuel cell, Holley Blue electric fuel pump, all braided aircraft hoses with aluminum AN fittings.
Safety: Stroud 3 head halon fire suppression system, padded roll bar, Simpson 5 point racing harnesses.
Entire car has been professionally wired, trunk mounted Optima Red Top Battery.
Body: Entire 1965 body soda blasted and Variprimed, any rust replaced by new panels (no patches), hundreds of hours spent blocking to perfection, PPG BC/CC system in Ford Guardsman Blue applied and color sanded to a mirror like finish. The Wimbeldon white LeMans stripes are under the clear. Correct for 1965 custom vinyl side stripes in Wimbeldon white were applied. Shelby hood with steel bracing and billet hood pins. Glass front and side windows, R model rear plexiglass window.
Interior: All new from headliner to carpet, Ford Racing Gauges. TMI sport seats with more bolster to cradle the driver. All new window and door latch mechanisms. Wipers. Wiring is there for heater and would be very simple to put heat in.
This car was built to run at Lime Rock or be one Bad Ass street car! Definitely a show piece either way. I wanted it to look like it could have came that way. I have moved and life has changed so I am selling.I keep this car at my house, in my garage and that's where the pictures where taken, I am not a professional photographer staging the car at the track or in front of a mansion or beautiful lake, this is the cars natural habitat. An entire book and 100's of pics of resto come with car.
