Car description |
---|
1969 Shelby GT500 - Concours Rotisserie Restoration on an original 18,141 mile car that was parked in 1972 with factory Candy Apple Red body paint and gold reflective stripes down the both sides. Sporting a 428/4V Cobra Jet Ram Air engine, close ratio 4spd Toploader with 3.50 Traction-Lok 9inch rear axle. This car has gone through a four year meticulous rotisserie restoration to MCA Trailered concours standards. Than taken to a MCA National Show to be judged by the Head MCA Shelby/SAAC judge. The car was detailed with all the correct part numbers and date-coded items to the build date of the car, as follows;
Engine Block is a 9C27 or 1969 March 27th
Heads are 9C24 or 1969 March 24th
Intake Manifold is 9D15 or 1969 April 15th
Distributer is C80F-12127H dated E3 or 1969 May
Door Strikers are stamped 4 08 9 for April 8th 1969
Timing Cover is three dots for Mar 69
Exhaust Manifolds are 2 19 69
Small emission clamps are 1/69 and 2/69 stamping
Emission pump is dated 90221 for Feb 21 1969
All glass including the front windshield is dated.
The 428CJ engine was completely rebuilt to spec and blueprinted. The motor received new ring set, rod bolt set, main bolt set, main bearings, rod bearings, timing chain, lifters, gaskets, push rods, valve guide, valve seats, valve springs, retainers, intake valve set, harmonica dampener and brass freeze plugs. Then the motor was run on a dyno stand for a couple of hours to break in the motor. I have the dyno numbers if needed. A Marti Report is included and is registered by SAAC in the Registry Book.
I am not a dealer - I have been restoring and judging Shelby/Mustangs for many years and my work and the restoration of this car is detailed on my web site www.Lamb-Chops.com under "For Sale." I have restored a lot of Mustangs and Shelby's over the past 20+ years and I can say this is the nicest car I have restored. The body is straight and solid, the underside is solid with no rust, the 4spd transmission was so nice all we did was clean the gears and rebuild it, shifts very nicely. Because the motor was broken in on the Dyno stand I have only driven the car 1 mile since completion to check the brakes, steering, and run through the gears.
Save the buyers/sellers 10 percent at the auctions and call me for a great car, that is not top show.
