Car description |

Up for sale is this collector owned 1993 Saab 9000 CSE turbo. The CSE was the "luxury" model in the 9000 lineup and came with the 2.3T 146 HP turbo engine. Finished in Scarabe Green with tan leather interior. Condition is excellent. Always garaged under a cover and kept on a battery trickle charger.
I purchased this 9000 from the family of the second owner, who acquired the car in 1998 with 120k miles from Werner Saab in suburban Philadelphia (dealer paperwork included). The second owner was a Saab mechanic and took meticulous care of the car, always maintaining it to factory specs and put less than 5,000 miles on the car each year since 1998. I have some dealer service records from the past 20 years, the original window sticker, owners manual/wallet and 23 rare Saab factory service manuals (see photo's). This would be a nice addition for a real Saab lover.
The 9000 is rust free and the original paint shines nicely with typical minor scratches that you would expect on a 25+ year old car. This isn't concours show quality but really nice all around. The interior is exceptionally clean with nice leather seating surfaces with no rips or tears. The headliner is good (see photo) with small areas that have been repaired. There is a single dash crack across the middle of the top of the dash. The sunroof works as it should and a wind deflector has been installed.
Everything works! A/C blows cold and heat works well. Original factory am-fm cd/radio and antenna work (plus a Clarion 6 cd changer in the trunk that is not currently connected). There are two intermittent warning lights... diagnosed by my Saab mechanic as a left front bumper airbag sensor and incorrect brake light bulbs??. The rear lights/brake lights work- it's just that the bulbs are tripping the warning light. Local Saab shop repair estimate for everything: $250. I've had the car stored in my garage all winter and have not had an opportunity to get the repair done- a shade tree mechanic could do the work easily but I defer to my mechanic.
Rare 5-speed transmission. Clutch pedal is excellent. This is a fast car and it drives like a dream. Entire exhaust and cat appear nearly new.
Excellent set of Continental Sport Plus 205/55/16 tires on Saab 16 inch Aero wheels.
Clean Virginia title in hand. Currently registered with antique plates (over 25 years old).
I would have no hesitation driving this Saab across the country tomorrow. Fly in (Charlottesville, Va airport) and drive home or I am happy to assist your shipper. Personal inspections and test drives encouraged- by appointment only. Email questions through Ebay and get a fast reply. Serious inquiries only. Thank you.
