It formed the basis for the Flying Spur, Silver Dawn, Touring Limousine,Park Ward and apart from branding differences and a different radiator housing also Bentleyfor the Mulsanne/Eight series.
The Spirit/Spur was not entirely new - it continued to use the basic design of the SilverShadow as well as that motor car's 6.75 L (6750 cc/411 in³) V8 engine and GM sourced THM 4003-speed automatic transmission. The Spur / Spirit continued the emphasis toward a high degreeof ride quality by utilising the self-leveling suspension from the previous model Silver Shadow,though in this application using a Girling automatic hydraulic rideheight control system and gas-charged shock absorbers.

This car is spectacular in every way. Upon starting this beauty you will experiencehow quiet and tight of a vehicle you are driving. Whetheryou outside or behind the wheel youcan barely hear the car run. She is as quiet as a mouse. The idle is smootherthan a Rolex and on our test drive it nevermissed a beat.
The transmission shifts as smooth as butter. While cruising at low speeds or 80+ miles per hour. The entire drive trainis solid and tight. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive.The climate control systems are in perfect working order and the air conditioningwill literallyblow you away with coolness....
The suspension and steering are as tight and strong as you can imagine.The car has always been garage kept and wellmaintained since new. The very complicated brake system has no issues (rare), like most Rolls Royce's do. The car is very responsiveand stops on a dime. All fluids and mineral oils are clean and topped off to the proper levels.
Mild upgrades like newer RR chrome wheels,a third brake light and beautiful euro headlights weresome of the upgrades the owner did tokeep up with the times thru the years.
The Connollyleather hides are spectacular. The leather is soft and accommodatingto the most discriminating.All seating surfaces are virtuallyunworn and have been extremely well preserved with leather conditioner/hide food on a regular basis.The interior dash/door-panelburl walnutwood trim/accents are near perfect with only a few minor imperfections, the most noticeable being a minusculeclear-coatchip on top of the passenger door panel upper trim which is pictured below. The headliner and sun-visorsare pristine. The original ever-flexroof it in great shape and looks spectacular!
The carpeting and lovely RR floor mats are ever so clean wile protectingthe original carpeting underneath and in spectacular condition throughout (no stains, spills, burns, scuffs, wear marks or unusual odors). As soon as you open the door you are immediatelywelcomed with that quintessentialsignature aroma..The spacious rear seating area has barely been sat in.
The original footrests are where they belong in the rear seat pockets.
-Power seats, windows, lights, gaugesand mirrors all operate flawlessly
Most luxury car owners love to smoke cigars in their cars however this one was an exception.The car has that distinctive new Rolls aroma and has never been smoked in.
The car has been tastefullyupgraded with a newer brand name am/fm/cd/mp3 player that has beentastefullyinstalled along with an iPodconnection at an armsreach.
In closing this is by far one of the nicest RRhave ever had the opportunity to lay our eyes on.We enjoyed our time with this lovely/timeless Rolls and hope the next owner/operator willenjoy/appreciate it as much as we do. All of the bright-work, weatherstrippingand (Avon) tires are in top top condition.This car is turn key and ready to be enjoyed now.
