Condition and Ownership History: I believe that I am either the fourth or fifth owner of this car. My 964 has been caringly and regularly used as my daily driver for the last eight years (approximately 5,000 miles per year), rior to which the car belonged to my uncle from 2002 through 2007. Both he and I are enthusiast owners, rack instructors and club racers. During our collective ownership, he car has been regularly maintained. The car is accident free with a clean Carfax. At the time of my uncle's purchase in January 2002, he car had approximately 61,000 miles on the clock, nd it has accumulated approximately that number again since that time. The car runs great, nd it is quicker than the average 964 given the combination of the Steve Wong chip and B&B exhaust, hich sounds fantastic! All systems work as intended, ncluding power windows, ruise control, eat, old A/C (converted to R134A), ower seats and seat heat, unroof, auges, ear spoiler, ront and rear windshield wipers and all lighting. New Bridgestone S-04 tires in July 2014. The interior is in very good condition, ith a new set of Lloyds mats (front and rear). There is the expected wear on the driver's side seat bolster, nd the shift lever is worn at the top. A new, eather replacement shift knob and boot comes with the car. The dash is uncracked, ut it has a slight warp to the top on the passenger side just in front of the windshield. This slight warp has been present for at least eight years, nd it has not gotten any worse during my ownership. The car is in excellent condition for a 25-year-old car, nd, or anyone familiar with the smell of Porches from this era, he interior retains that smell (a result of this being a non-smoker car). Please note, owever, hat this is not a garage queen, aving been used regularly. The car has the expected minor rock chips and blemishes, one of which detract significantly from its appearance. There is a minor tear in the rear bumper cover (see photo). No bodywork or bondo/filler. The paint is all original, ther than the driver's side A-pillar and the cowl immediately in front of the windshield: there was a small spot of rust on the A-pillar next to the windshield (approximately half-way up the A-pillar), hich I had professionally repaired in 2008, t which time the left and right cowl-to-fender seals were changed, nd a new windshield and seal were installed (receipts included with sale). All other glass is original to the car. Approximately three years ago, t a cost of nearly $1,200, replaced both rear tail lights and rear center section with new Porsche replacement parts. The tail light units are European versions, hich do not have the small side-marker lights. All pieces are in excellent, rack-free condition. The original pieces come with the car. Maintenance History: The car's service book was stamped at its intended intervals through just over 60,000 miles. During my family's ownership, e handled most of the general maintenance, eaving only more significant work to Luis Gil at European Auto Center in Miami. Some notable maintenance below:
February 2010 - Engine rebuilt and resealed at approximately 100,000 miles, t which time the rod and main bearings were changed (among other things), nd a new stock OEM flywheel and clutch were installed; In November 2013, t approximately 119,850 miles, failed 02 sensor resulted in a lean running condition and a seal failure on one cylinder, hich caused oil to weep past the seal and drip to the floor. Upon inspection, he overlean mixture resulted in hairline cracking in the combustion chambers near the valve guides. The engine was removed, ll six cylinder heads were replaced, valve job was performed and new valve guides were installed. The top end was then resealed. At this time the car also received new CV boots, elts, 2 sensor, gnition wires and engine compartment padding. Additionally, installed the Steve Wong performance chip, hich is designed for better and richer fueling across the entire rev band. Car has run perfectly since the foregoing work was completed.August 2011 - new clutch pedal bearings and pin.November 2011 - rebuilt power steering rack from Vertex Automotive and new boots installed.August 2010 at 103,135 miles, new evaporator, xpansion vale and receiver/drier installed.December 2009 - new DME relay.January 2009 - new oil thermostat.February 2007 - new alternator. The car received new front hood shocks within the last two years, ront cross-drilled rotors within the last twelve-months, nd new rear pads and wear sensors will be installed this week. In addition to the items noted above, he car comes with the following:
Original window sticker, wo keys (plus key for wheel locks), ll books and original documentation, ncluding anti-theft radio ID cards and ID tag for original ignition keys;Professionally installed K-40 radar detector with module hidden below lower dash above driver's right leg. This was likely installed when the car was new, nd, hile it functions as designed, t has not been updated to modern standards.Front lowering springs (never installed);Porsche bra with mirror bras (never used in at least the last thirteen years);Original tool kit, ollapsible spare and air pump;Several oil filters; One new distributor cap and two new rotors; andOther miscellaneous small parts.
