With the introduction of the 964 Series there were many changes and firsts for the 911's, t was the first year Porsche added ABS brakes to the 911, hefirst year for Coil spring suspension (vs. torsion bar suspension) and first year for AWD.Andhorsepower jumped from 214hp to 247hp -Porsche claimed the 964 was 85% new in 1989.

One unique feature about the 1989 C4 was that this was the only year the 964 did not have airbags and power steering.
