Car description

1987 Porsche 944 Turbo WP0AA2955HN150115

We had a client recently buy this car with the intention of building a track car for Porsche Club Track Days. Plans changed when he found a car already finished and ready to go. So we are listing this car for him.

2 Options for the buyer: return the car to full road service or build your own track car.

This car just came out of long term storage and was last on the road in 2017. I have driven the car a short distance and also attached a video of a short drive done after photos. The car starts and runs very well – the transmission seems to shift well and brakes straight with no pull or shake. This car will need the following to be fully road worthy and we recommend the following:

Full Major Service – with new timing belts, rollers, water pump and all seals, 4 new tires, Rear Hatch Struts, All Fluids, Filters and Full Tune Up with New Plugs wires, cap and rotor. The car appears to have some sort of oil leak near the turbo charger – more than likely an oil line or gasket or return hose for the turbo oiling system. Install new shift lever bushings. The Rear Sunroof motor does work but sounds like the 2 plastic drive gears are striped – very common. Rear Tail lamp is cracked on pass side: Included with car. Some minor electrical repairs, Odometer Repair and AC Charge.

Cosmetic – the paint is not very good and had a respray in 2001 per the records I have. The driver’s seat needs the lower seat panel replaced – GAHH sells the correct perforated leather and a full recondition and dye of the driver and pass seat – console and lower dash – The upper dash can be replaced or recovered or simply capped – A deep clean of the interior would be highly recommended also. A new Sunroof headliner panel or reglue the one in the car and sunroof seal – I have the cover panel between the sunroof and the rear hatch.

All pretty simple stuff that the home mechanic can take care of. I have a stack of service records and an owners manual but no pouch.A Great Covid Project.
