Up for sale is the PERFECT "budget" Porsche 356 Speedster "kit car". A, clean-titled, 1960 VW Bug, built to look just like a half million dollar 356 speedster! This car is built very well, and turns heads on the daily! The 1600cc engine in the rear starts right up and runs phenomenally! Single carb and single exhaust, warms right up and is ready to stroll the town! All the lights and gauges work (minus the "bar" gauge), horn works, and so do the wipers. The body lines on this car are straight, and it drives straight down the road. 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly, although 3rd gear "nics" if you shift very quickly.Just serviced at VW of Austin, tuned up, fuel system revamped, ready for your weekend adventures!
I have little information on the manufacturer of this vehicle, as there are no builder tags or stamps anywhere. The previous owner was "Motoreum", in Austin, TX who had the tv show "Chrome Underground". The build quality is very good although, there is no fancy stitching or special carpeting in the car. Wiring under the dash could use some "looms" to clean it up. Some flaws in the paint seen in the pictures (chipped front bumper and a few minor scratches). The top does go up and down, and clips in great. The little side windows and an extra set of mirrors also come with the car.All in all, the car is a great pleasure to drive, runs well and looks the part! Many people think it is a true speedster... really an attention-getter! Feel free to call or text me with any other questions (2six7) 885-7nine77. Happy bidding! Can also help with nation wide shipping.
