Car description |
---|
Purchased from the second owners Estate. Original life long San Diego Porsche 912. Dry, well cared for example from new. Equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission, auxiliarydriving lights, tool kit and custom car cover. If you have been looking for a quality and affordable 912 you would want to check this one out.
While in the second owner’s possession it received a high quality repaint in the original Polo red along with new rubber seals throughout. The original engine (# 4094084) was rebuilt by a well known local Porsche specialist, and other needs were sortedas wellto make it a nice reliable driver. It had recently been used extensively for local Porsche PCA club fun runs and rallies.
Below is a more detailed description. The car can be viewed during the auction by appointment. More photos can be seen at oldtownclassics San Diego. Can assist in the shipping process.I can be reached at (619)295-1898 to answer any questions. Bid with confidence, I have been a small local licensed Classic Car Dealer since 1987.
EXTERIOR:
Overall looks fantastic.Dry and rust free. No signs of prior damage or repairs. Very good gaps; quality paint with lots of depth and laser straight panels. Chrome overall is very good, however some is original and shows some slight patina. The aluminum trim surrounding the side windows is showing some dullness and appears cloudy in areas.Would benefit from removal and having it detailed by a professional metal polisher. As common, front spare tire well floor professionally replaced with correct stamped piece during its restoration.Clean, rust free underside as expected from a Southern California car.
INTERIOR:
Overall shows very well. Seats, headliner and vinyl panels are in excellent condition. Original door storage pockets have slight play. Recent new carpet kit. Dash is as new, recently restored by early Porsche specialist Autobahn Interiors. Equipped with a newer wood Nardi Steering wheel; also have the original.
MECHANICAL:
Runs very well, strong and responsive with a smooth idle. As mentioned the engine was recently rebuilt by local Porsche Specialists. Transmission shifts up and down throughout the gears without noises or issues. Shifter is to spec without any slop. Car is well sorted and is a pleasure to drive. Very tight and responsive, its one of the nicest 912's I have driven!
