1979 Porsche 911SC - Nearly 100% complete original - 140K miles
Please read all of the details listed below before bidding.
1. I parked this car in storage in 2008 upon taking a job overseas. After being away several years, I knew it would need to be completely gone through by a mechanic to replace fluids, gas, brake system check etc. That never happened, and it's been in storage ever since. My interests have changed and now it's time to pass it on along to someone interested in getting it back on the road.
2. This car will need to be towed or taken away on a flatbed hauler.
3. The car was sold to me with zero accident history and has been garaged its entire life. All the body panel gaps look great and the doors close with that classic 911 "ping" sound. I see no signs of rust anywhere. There is a small ding on the passenger side door which may have been repaired at some point, but I'm not sure. Also, that door has yellowed slightly over the years, so it may have been resprayed at one point. I'm not sure. Otherwise, the paint is 100% original, Grand Prix White.
4. Around the time I parked the car, before leaving overseas, I removed the carpet, so I could install an RS carpet kit and door cards. I installed two pieces of it and stopped. I'm not going to finish installing it or reassembling everything as the new owner may chose to add sound insulation or choose to go back to an original style carpet. The car comes with the remainder of the car kit and the RS door cards. All of the parts are shown in the picture go with the car, including tool kit and space saver air pump. I still have the original carpet that I removed. The only parts which are not included are the original deck lid and spoiler, stereo, center console and battery.
5. I planned to change the bumpers to the "Yellowbird" style bumpers, but never started that. I have the bumpers new in a box. These are included in the sale of the car. I believe the brand is GT-Racing.911 Bumpers
6. The wheels on the car now are Fuch replicas, by Rota. These wheels and Falken tires have zero miles on them. However, I believe the tires are now more than 6 years old, so they may need to be replaced due to age. The car does come with the original color matched Fuchs (16x6 and 16x7). Here are more details on the Rota wheels.- Wheeldude.com - Professional wheel dealer.
7. Originally, the car came with a very large spoiler. That spoiler along with the decklid were sold more than a decade ago. It now has a fiberglass ducktail, which will need to be prepped and painted.
8. This is a no reserve auction. If you want it, bid. Please do not message me asking for a sales price. I think the starting bid is reasonable considering the overall condition, originality, and extra parts it comes with. Also, the previous owner already updated the engine with pop-off valve and pressure fed tensioners.
Altogether this is a great start to a nice project, with a clean title. The car ran great when parked, and I really regret not driving it all these years. But, as I said before, my interests have changed and I could really use the storage space now.
Upon winning the auction, the buyer needs to send $1000.00 to my Paypal account within 24 hours, with the remainder via cashiers check when you arrive to pick up the car and parts. Buyer must make arrangements to pick up the car within 7 days after the end of the auction. Failure to do so will result in the car being re-listed. Car is being sold, as is, where is. No international shipping.
Thank you for your interest. I will try to answer all questions as quickly as I can.
