Car description |

Beautiful example of a 1976 Porsche 911 S Targa. It is a numbers matching car and has a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. It was originally a California car and has zero rust. The original color is Sienna (Burgundy) Metallic, code Z5. A previous owner had it repainted in white, which I think actually looks better with the black out Targa bar and interior, which were ordered this way from the factory. Staggered Fuchs wheels carry Sumitomo's in 195/65/15 tires on the front and 215/60/15 on the rear.
There are a few cosmetic scratches and knicks, but is in great overall shape for a 44 year old car. The right rocker panel has a small dent where someone tried to jack up the car at some point but overall the car shows no signs of being in an accident. I've replaced the gearshift bushings and coil. The brake lines were upgraded to stainless steel and both the brake fluid and transmission were flushed and received new fluid. I also had a service done that included adjusting the valves, replacing the spark plugs, replacing the drive belt, and valve cover gaskets in addition to changing the oil. Unfortunately I didn't receive records from the previous owner, but am told that updates usually done on the 2.7 engine have been taken care of. The engine probably has been rebuilt at least once but I don't have this documented.
I've owned the car for nearly three years and it has been a lot of fun. I had it shipped to Illinois, didn't drive it in the snow, and kept it in a climate controlled garage when I wasn't driving it. I'm currently in the process of relocating back out West and drove the car out in the Fall. The car is great on road trips and simply eats up the miles.
If you are a serious buyer, please feel free to reach out and ask questions. Thanks.
