Car description

This1968 Porsche 912 coupe was built into a Monte Carlo tribute car by R Gruppe member Troy San Jose. It now runs a 2.7L motor out of a CIS-equipped 1975 911 and features a number of upgrades thatmake this 912/6well-suitedfor vintage rallies, street, or track use, including triple throat 40IDA 3C carburetors and S camshafts. A set of Deep Six Maxi Light Fuchs areincluded, along with a set of 5 factory steel wheels with tires. With approximately 4000 miles added since the build was completed, this Porsche has been sorted and is ready to be enjoyed. It is sold with a clean New Mexico title.

Vic Elford won the 1968 Monte in a 911 and this car was styledto resemble the1960s factory Monte Carlo racers with bright Tangerinepaint, rally lights, sponsor decals, and center-exit exhaust. All decals are high quality vinyl and easily removed.

The car sits nicely on Bilstein Sport shocks that were recently installed at all four corners. In addition to the aforementioned Bilstein Sports, the suspension has been modified with rear over-sized torsion bars and adjustable spring plates. The brakes also received new pads and rotors, in addition to rebuilt calipers. A new master cylinder was installed earlier this year.

Therally theme is carried through to the interior with a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, Rennline kick/toe panels, RS-spec lightweight carpeting, RS lightweight door panels, 917 style wood gear-knob on theupgraded short shifter, and a color matching roll bar.The seats have been redone and remain in great shape.

The motor is a 2.7L CIS donated from a 1975 911. Extensive work performed duringinstallation includes:

  • Clutch pressure plate package (fitted for 2.7)
  • 'S'camshafts
  • Triple Throat 40IDA 3C carburetors
  • Danske headers
  • MSD ignition
  • Distributor recurved by Barry Hershon of IAE
  • Carrera tensioners
  • PMO fuel rails, manifolds, and fuel pressure regulator
  • Turbo valve covers
