1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet Kentucky Car - 3.0L Water-Cooled Front-Engine - Fun and Affordable (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are not presented due to website limitations. Just in time for summer cruising, Garage Kept Motors is pleased... to offer this affordable Porsche Convertible for consideration. Produced for just three model years, 1989-1991, the Porsche 944 S2 is among the rarest of the transaxle, water-cooled Porsche sports cars. And with just 6,980 cabriolets built in all, the drop-top version is certainly special. Red with a Black interior is the iconic color combination for classic Porsches. The 944 S2 had the biggest four-cylinder production engine of its time in terms of capacity.  Its naturally-aspirated 3.0L powerplant is both torque-y and rev-happy, delivering 280 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, and 211 horsepower at 5,800 rpm, which is short of the 6,400 rpm redline. A 16-valve cylinder head, two overhead camshafts, a lighter crankcase, and forged pistons help to create the unique naturally aspirated engine, that is close in performance to earlier 944 turbo cars. Only the 944 S2 cars had this engine, and all were fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Aaltech Automotive just gave this 944 a mechanical overhaul in early June of 2019. Oil and Filter change, Front Disc Brakes and Rotors, Brake Flush and New Fluids, Fuel Filter, New Tires, New Hood Lift Support, New Rear Shocks, and a Brand New Battery. It is now turn-key, in search of a new garage to call home. Clean CarFax and ready to roll. This car is finished in India Red (Code LM3A) over black leather interior with a black convertible top. What better color combination is there for a classic Porsche, "child-hood poster" car? We can just picture this car parked on a shiny black floor with neon "lightning bolts" in the background!  The interior has been left standard other than a Pioneer CD/Radio being added. 944 S2's are excellent sports cars and chopping the roof off adds just a bit more to the fun of driving a 944. Wind in your hair and a third pedal - the way sports car's should be. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
