1980 Porsche 911 SC Targa, manual transmission50,942 actual miles
I would describe this as a driver that had a lot of service work done recently. At 49,835 miles an engine out service was performed at a cost of $4,742 (receipt in photos) This included...New throwout bearing and clutch kit, flywheel was turnedReplaced timing chain tensioners with updated Carrera tensionersNew rear main sealAdjusted valvesNew steering shaft bushingsNew oil pressure switchValve cover gasketsChanged transmission fluidBrake fluid flushLube, oil and filterNew alternator belt
At that time, the previous owner also had the A/C system removed. This seems to be common on the systems that are no longer working, you still get a good breeze with the targa roof off. Underneath the car appears to be clean and dry, no leaks or rust.
In addition to the work above the vehicle also has 4 new tires, new warm-up regulator, and updated airbox with pop off valve, new seats with "911" embroidered in the headrests, and new coco mats.
The vehicle has some cosmetic flaws that we tried to represent best as we could in the photos.....Rock chips on the hood, the headlight doors appear to have been repainted and are a different shade of silver, there are some slight clearcoat issues, that may wet-sand or buff out. The rocker panels each have a dent in them, these are bolt on and easy to remove, and the black targa frame has some fading, and there are some other small scratches, dents, and or chips that would be expected for a 39 year old car that has not been restored.
Overall it drives excellent and the clutch feels tight, I would not hesitate to drive it out of state. We are required to collect sales tax for some states. You are welcome to have it inspected, but must do so before the auction ends. We are happy to help arrange shipping within the lower 48 states, or can pick you up at the airport if you are flying in to pick it up. The vehicle is being sold "as/is", no warranty expressed or implied.
