The paint on the car is believed to be mostly original, with the exception of the rear quarter...panels and the rear bumper which were professionally resprayed. The car is well optioned with a desirable 5-Speed manual transmission, Limited Slip Differential, Power passenger seat, and some additional interior comfort options. The car has a clean CARFAX report, showing regular but limited usage and well cared for past. It should be noted that a mileage discrepancy is noted in 2010. Early history on the car is a little vague but it appears that the car spent most of its early life in Indiana, with the first CARFAX entry being at 20,000 miles in 1991 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The car was sold in 2006, ending up in Florida where it was driven sparingly and maintained appropriately with the included service records to show as proof. In April of 2014, the car was sold again with around 47,591 miles and wound up back in Michigan. As it sits now this 928 is in fantastic, well sorted and properly maintained condition. A large binder is included detailing the judicial service history of the vehicle as well as the refreshment or replacement of all pieces and components. With its iconic 80’s color scheme, powerful V8 engine, well-kept service history, and posh, well-appointed interior, this example makes the ideal candidate for a comfortable driving and spirited use.Included with the sale of the car are the tools, air pump, original sales invoice, and extensive service records.EXTERIORBody And PaintThe exterior of the car is finished in a beautiful Rubino Metallic. The paint is mostly original with the exception of the left and right rear quarter panels and the rear bumper which were professionally resprayed. The quality of the paint is smooth and consistent with excellent color and a nice luster. There is some minor stone chipping in the front area, consistent with the miles. The side view mirrors have some minor stone peppering on them and there is a touched up stone chip above the windshield. The rest of the paint remains in excellent condition. The body is in great shape with straight and smooth body panels and consistent body and panel gaps.Glass And TrimThe glass remains in great condition throughout with no scratching or pitting. The side windows and rear glass are more than likely original as they are branded Sekurit, however, the windshield does not appear to have any branding on it. The flip-up headlights show in good condition with no pitting or cracking, same with the tail lights. The trim around the windows is in good shape with smooth consistent paint and no signs of aging. The rubber components, which often fade in color, are in fantastic shape with a nice deep dark black with no cracking or aging present.WheelsThe chrome wheels are in great shape with bright and shiny faces and colorful, issue-free center caps.Notable FlawsThe car retains mostly original paint but it believed that the rear quarters, as well as the rear bumper, have been painted. There are also some small stone chips present, consistent with the mileage and usage.INTERIORSeats And SurfacesThe car is fitted with an optional all leather interior finished in a Burgundy color. The interior was gone through gradually from 2010-2012 and most of the aging and cracking components were replaced or refinished including refinishing of the seats. The color matched Burgundy carpets retain excellent color and show minimal wear. The dash is tight, colorful and crack free. The door-cards are well finished with no pulling or cracking and remain tight to the door frame although there is a bit of waviness to the leather towards the front edge of the cards. The steering wheel is in good shape with smooth, crack free leather and nice tight stitching. The rest of the interior leather trim including shifter boot and center console remain in good condition with smooth and colorful leather and nice tight stitching. If one was to be extremely critical, there is some stitching coming undone above the vent on the center stack, but it is barely noticeable and not an issue in the slightest.Functionality And AccessoriesThe gauges are clean and clear with good color and readability. There is some faint fading to the black gauge surround above the speedometer area. The unleaded fuel only sticker still remains affixed to the central gauge cluster. It appears that all gauges also read their designated functions as they should. Both power seat controls move the seats as they should and both the windows and the sun roof function as they should. All buttons and knobs on the dash and center stack are in excellent shape and appear to function as intended. The gear selector moves through its intended range of motion with ease and the handbrake holds the car firmly in place. There is an aftermarket Blaupunkt radio in the center stack but it compliments the interior nicely.Notable FlawsThere is some faint fading to the black gauge surround above the speedometer area and there is currently a nice aftermarket Blaupunkt radio in place which although, not correct, compliments the interior nicely.ENGINE BAY AND TRUNKEngine BayThe engine bay is clean, tidy and well maintained much like the rest of the car. Painted surfaces remain smooth and bright and all appropriate stickers appear to be affixed in their correct locations. The spider-like intake runners are bright and clean. All hoses, clamps, and tubing are in excellent condition and appear to be all of the correct type. There are no visible signs of leaking, seaping, or any other related issues. The underwood fire pad is in good condition with only minimal staining to speak of.Trunk AreaThe trunk area is clean and orderly condition, with colorful and clean carpets and smooth issue free leather side trim. Rear strut mounts retain factory paint markings and the tools, jack, and air compressor are tucked away neatly in the spare tire. The battery box remains in tidy original looking condition.MECHANICALSEngineThe car has been very well maintained as outlined in the included service history. The judicial maintenance shows through in the running nature of the vehicle as the big V8 quietly rumbles to life with a quick turn of the key. It settles easily into a smooth idle, revs freely and makes great power.TransmissionIt is commonly held that the Automatic version of the 928 is enjoyable to drive but nothing beats the ability to manually control the power of the vehicle through the fitted 5-Speed transmission. The clutch has good positive feedback with appropriate take up and clutch pedal feel. The transmission feels excellent, holding power with ease and moving through the gears and rev range freely.Brakes And SuspensionBrakes feel tight and responsive, bringing the car to a smooth and controlled stop with no issues. The suspension is nice and tight and surprisingly compliant. The road feel is excellent and the steering is fairly light and responsive.TiresThe car is currently fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE750 tires in 225/50/16 on all four corners. All the tires are in good condition with plenty of treade left in them.DRIVING EXPERIENCEIn the 928, Porsche hoped to meld the best driving characteristics of a sports car with comfort and practicality of a grand tour
