Car description |

This absolutely rust free 1978 Porsche 911SC is a European-market Targa equipped with its original numbers matching 3.0L flat-six and a 915 5-speed manual transaxle. The car also features front and rearspoilers, staggered Fuchs wheels and Recaro sport seats. It resided in Nevada with two owners from 1994 to 2018. Recent work includedwheel refinishing and front control arm bushing replacement, and an alignment. This Targa is offered with a stack of records dating from 1994 and a clean title.
Trim differences for the Euro cars included smaller rear bumperettes, amber turn signals, andH4 headlamps.
Super nice Fuchs wheels measure 8″ up front and 9″ in the rear and were refinished in the RSR style and are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires.Carpeting is protected by red and black Coco mats.
The European-market 3.0L flat-six carried the same factory output rating as the US version at 180 horsepower but was not equipped with a catalytic converter. Work performed by the previous owner is said to have included ashift linkage adjustment and installation of Carrera chain tensioners, as well as replacement of the axle boots, upper and lower valve cover gaskets, oil cooler lines and seals, and timing cover gaskets.A recent compression test at Dallas Motorsports reportedly yielded numbers of 160-165 psi across all six cylinders. The engine bay wears an engraved plate from a builder dated 1989, and a similar plate was formerly mounted on the dash according to a long-term previous owner.Service in 2018 included new front control arm bushings as well as a wheel alignment
All in all a very cool example of an early SC in European delivery specs. Wide wheels and great stance give it a fantastic look. Its a pleasure to drive. Car drives very nice and the power difference to the US version is monumental. I wanted to keep this in my collection for a very long time but unfortunately recent changes in my career force me to let this beauty. This car differentiates itself from the standard SC that you see around. A lot of money has been spent to bring it to this cool stunning look. Whoever buys this will have a solid head turning rust free Porsche classic that can be driven on a daily basis.
