Car description |
---|
Up for bid with NO RESERVE is a 356 Porsche that is non-original. The original engine was removed years ago and replaced with a 912 engine that was completely rebuilt and has an upgraded Web Cam installed. The transmission is believed to be the original. The car has upgraded front disc brakes and stops well. The interior has been refinished in tan vinyl. The headliner is new and the interior lights work with the exception of a door switch on the driver side that needs to be installed. The original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is included - it works. The windshield is new, however, the weatherstrip at the corners is showing some minor cracks (see photo). Aftermarket rear view mirrors have pitting. The car was stripped and repainted with PPG Concept 10+ years ago. It still shows well. Recently, the fuel tank was replaced. Weber carburetors have been rebuilt and a new fuel line was run to the rear. It was attached to the bottom of the tub of the car. This car is still a 6 volt system. Original heater boxes were removed. The suspension under the car is believed to be original. I do believe the car has Koni shocks. The window frames and what little chrome is on the car has been re-plated. There is an aftermarket exhaust installed. The car sounds good. The car had no serious rust issues on the body panels prior to re-paint. The tub of the car has undercoating that is letting go, but no giant rust surprises. It has an aftermarket steering wheel and rims. This Porsche has been sitting inside of a warehouse for approximately 10 years until recently. We took it out and got it running. Runs and drives well with no issues (shifting, engine, etc.). I am selling this car as I have sold my other cars, without a reserve - taking a gamble here. My interests (and my age) have changed. It's time to let it go. I do have a clear, bonded Texas title. If you would like to inspect this car, feel free to reach out to me for a showing or questions (8323474021). I am reserving the right here to end this auction early because of local advertising and an interested buyer. A few more cars and antique motorcycles are forthcoming.
