You're viewing my 1973 Porsche 914 1.8 liter targa coupe. The car overall is very solid with excellent floors and longitudinals. Front and rear trunk floors are rock solid as well. The metal tray that the battery sits in isn't perfect, but the actual "hell hole" area is good. Structurally the car is excellent. There's little to no flex when one wheel is jacked up and doors are opened. They open and close beautifully with a solid shut and great gaps. The car had been repainted several years ago in its original rare and highly desirable "Ravenna Green" color. The paint job is "driver quality" with a minor nick on the passenger rear quarter and some overspray on various trim pieces/rubber. Most can be cleaned up or rubber replaced relatively easily. The front and rear bumper tops need replaced to look their best. The rear is in better shape than the front. Driver's headlight door is a little out of alignment.
The original interior is in excellent condition for its age, with just minor seam separation on the driver's seat. The dash is excellent with no cracks or significant shrinkage. Car has the factory appearance package with center console/gauge package. The clock usually works. Tach is acting up. Carpet is good overall. Door panels are good. Original radio is present. Headlights go up and down. A few bulbs need replaced around the car. The odometer reads 67k and though there are no supporting documents, it is believed to be original due to the overall condition of the original interior.
The 1.8 liter motor runs well. I recently had the original fuel injection removed (was garbage from sitting) and replaced with a single Weber carb setup. The shift linkage is in need of an adjustment as I cannot find reverse. Brakes are also hanging up from the car sitting. I think it's possibly the master cylinder, though there is some buildup from sitting that could clear up with use. The car does run, drive and stop. I installed a starter button below the dash (turn key, push hidden button, fires right up). Tires are in decent shape but older. I bought this car earlier this year to fully restore but have since moved on to a 911 project that I'm devoting my time and money to instead.
This is a rare opportunity to get a solid car with a very rare original paint code, and with a little time and investment can be a really nice example of an early-bumper 914. These are great investments and this color is one of the best to own!
Please only bid if you are a serious buyer. I require a $500 PayPal deposit immediately following the end of auction, and final balance is to be bank wired within 3 business days. No exceptions. I'm starting the bidding at a very reasonable $7,500. Feel free to message me with questions or offers to end early as I will have the car advertised in other venues.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
