Car description

Regrettably have decided to part with my pride and joy, my 1988 Carrera Coupe. I purchased this beauty in 2011 in Florida and I was the fourth owner. The car had never left Florida, and it continues to be always garaged to this day. The car was in outstanding condition when I bought it, but I had several upgrades done, and some minor repairs, to make into a truly outstanding example of the original car. As you will see, 95% of the car is original, and the parts I have replaced (such as new brake calipers, for example), are all Porsche OEM equipment.
The car is not perfect, but it is close. The car drives strong, shifts well, no hesitation. There is a very slight oil drip that I notice when the car is parked, I'd say about a drop of oil per week. It has never affected the car's performance nor does the oil need replacing because of it. But I want the new buyer to know every single thing about this beautiful car -- there will be no surprises for the new owner.
I added the max photos to this ad to make sure you could see as much of the car as you possibly can. I'll also be happy to take additional photos and send them to you if there's something you can't see, but I hope I've covered the car in great detail. I did not take a photo of the underside but can assure you it looks as good as the body, engine and interior. I simply could not get a good angle on the undercarriage.
I have extensive records since 2002 which is when the second owner purchased the car. In 2002 the car had 152,000 miles on it, so as you can see only 20,000 miles have been put on the car in the past 16 years. So over that period, the car was truly babied and treated like the classic that she is.
Title is clear Florida Title. There is an administrate error on the title - it lists the mileage as 174,500 because the DMV made an error when the mileage at the time as 171,500. Current mileage is 172,221 so eventually the mileage will catch up with what's on the title. I can assure you the odometer has not been messed with -- obviously I would have turned it back much further than that had I wanted to!
Since I bought the car, I put some serious money into the car. One of the first things I did was take it to EuroTech in Jacksonville, Florida, to have it fully serviced to the tune of $1855. I also had the A/C converted to R134. The A/C runs cold, but as any Porsche enthusiast will tell you, there is so much A/C tubing in these cars that it's pretty hard to get the A/C to run as cold as a new car. I've almost always driven the car with the windows down, or with the sunroof open, to enjoy the sound of the car and distinct roar of the 911 engine.
Here's a list of what I've had done to the car:
* New Tires - Yoko AS530 tires - the new cars have less than 1500 miles on them* New Interstate Mega-Tron Plus Battery* Replaced Clutch Slave Cylinder and Bled Hydraulic System* Installed new Blaupunkt London 120 radio. This is obviously not the original radio, but is about as close to period correct as you can get with a new stereo with CD player - it looks great in the dash and very period correct.* Replaced front spoiler with OEM spoiler and all mounting hardware.* Installed new hood shock and dual rear decklid shocks* New Oil Level Sensor and new fuel level sending unit* New Rubber Door Sill plates* OEM Turbo Tie Rods installed professionally by Tire Kingdom, Wheel Alignment* New Front and Rear Brake Rotors, Calipers, Brake Pads and Hoses, wheel bearings, e-brake coil spring; the parts alone for the job cost almost $2000.* Installed new insulation for Engine compartment
The car comes with several extras:
* Tire Compressor* Tool Kit - period correct for 84-89 Porsche 911* Car Cover* Battery Charger (with connector wired to battery to you can charge while in your garage)* Detailed vehicle records since 2002* All original manuals, books
I hope the photos and my description will speak for themselves. This is truly a beautiful car, and I hope to find it a new home and owner who will appreciate it as much as I have. Also, I'm not desperate to sell it -- I recently purchased a Cayman and decided it was just too much to have both of the cars, as much as I'd like to keep the 911. I will let it go for a fair, market value price, but nothing less.
Car is located in Arlington, VA. I'd welcome you to come see it before purchasing - in fact I'd encourage it if you are nearby. Thanks for reading.
