I'm not sure how to begin. Words can't describe the condition of this car and the emotions that one feels when they see it, hear it, feel it. It's unreal. The car looks and drives like the day it was delivered on the showroom in 1985, yet your brain knows it's 2018, it really creates a unique experience for a car person. As you can tell it's flawless. To answer the obvious... there is no paint work. The finish is as new. I purchased this car from an Illinois physician, the original owner, in February 2015. It was hard to believe that the car could actually be as described, I had very few photos to look at. Amazingly, he put me in contact with the only mechanic that has taken care of the car!! After speaking with the mechanic I quickly knew that I found the mother load. He substantiated everything about the car. I spoke with him recently about selling the car, and I feel that I can allow you to contact him if it needs to be done. This mechanic btw, was recently hired by one of the largest Porsche dealerships in the world to head up it's Classic department. As you can see from the photo, the last service he performed was over $6,000 and included the timing belt service. I have a huge folder of records for the car. Not so much repair records, because of the mileage, but things that substantiate the mileage. There are tons of parking decals, inspection stickers, etc, etc. from day one. It is amazing to have EVERYTHING! The window sticker, all extra keys, manuals, factory trunk kit with all the things that came with the car. The only things that are not as new are the following: 1. the temperature gauge 2. the radio powers up, but doesn't get a channel. 3. the mechanic told me that a wheel was replaced and it's from a different model year 928. not sure which one it is. 4. there is curb rash on the left front rim. The picture of the engine bay, is as the engine has always been. It's not been detailed!! The underside of the car looks as exterior!! In homage to the car I left the Illinois plate on the front! The car is in North Carolina. Yesterday, I replaced the hood and rear hatch struts as they where week. I replaced them with Porsche OEM struts and saved the originals so you have everything that came with the car when built new. I will be travelling internationally next Friday so there may be a delay in replies from March 2 to 9. The car is as described!! Amelia Island or Barrett Jackson are probably better choices for selling the car, but I don't want the stress of transportation, etc. My reserve is extremely fair, I know what this car is.... and I also know it's not a 959.
