Porsche 911 1966 Sun Roof Coup

Selling my 1966 911 Porsche that I have owned for the last twenty years.
This car is structurally sound. The suspension and torsion bar area are solid as well as floor area and pedal area and rockers.
The car has solid bones.
Floor boards and other under body sheet metal were replaced by a shop in the 90's with a photo of receipt included in this ad.It has been kept in a dry attached garage when not being driven.

This '66 has the coveted wood grain dash and green faced gauges, that were only available through '66.It also came from the factory with an electric sunroof and is unique with the drain holes in the C pillars a carry over from the 356's.
The Certificate of Authority will go with the car.
As per the COA this '66 came from the factory in April 1966 with the following optional equipment:Webasto HeaterSunroofHeadrest - RightAntennaBumper HornsTinted Windshield and Rear Window
The original color is the very popular Polo Red presently painted white.Original Interior is Black Leatherette w/Corduroy Inserts presently sporting high back black Porsche seats.
The car comes with Weber Carbs and original numbers matching 5 speed transmission.Engine is upgraded to what I believe is a 1970T.The Webasto heater is included but fan assembly is missing.I have what appears to be the original fuel pump which is being included in this auction.
The car comes with front and rear sway bars.The front sway bar is a through chassis sway bar.The Weber Carbs on the car have been rebuilt.New oil tubes have been installed, most all exterior rubber seals have been replaced or refurbished along with the window crank mechanisms.Shift coupler replaced.A new steering damper unique to this model year is installed.A brand new battery, ignition coil, plugs, and plug wires have been recently installed.Permatune CD ignition wire crimp connectors replaced with soldered spade connectors.Oil changed has been done.

Some folks have speculated this is a later model SC made to look like a long hood SWB 1966. This is not the case. This is indeed a 1966 911 that before I purchased it was made to look like a SC, a common practice in the 80's. Other buyers speculate the Sun Roof was added to make it look more like a SC. This is not true, the Sun Roof is factory as shown in the COA. It has the drains in the C - pillars, similar to Sun Roofs on the older 356 generation cars.The accordion style bumpers used for the SC look are fiberglass reproductions.The fenders on all four corners are steel.I believe the front trunk hood is original but cut shorter for the "SC" look.
The COA - Certificate of Authenticity I purchased through Porsche is the COA for this car as per number plates on the car and the registration which is in my name.
I am not selling a fully restored 911. I bought this car to drive and took a mostly preservation route with it. I have kept it parked in my garage when not being driven. As the included receipt photo shows floor board and pedal area repair was done by a shop in the 90's and POR-15 protectant added to exposed metal.
I don't know the complete status of any metal repair as I did not strip the car down to bare metal. I kept it in white as when I purchased it. I know of some non metal repair in rear tail light assembly and top front fenders near windshield.
The car needs some sorting out but is presently running and I have driven it around the neighborhood recently and use to drive it to work.The sunroof needs new cables and liner.Brake calipers need rebuilding.Master Cylinder has recently been replaced as well as bushings in pedal cluster.High beams and horn need some work.Aftermarket radio is installed but not hooked up.Harry would not be happy because the clock doesn't work.
Drive it as is, convert it into a 911R, return it to its factory livery, or look at it as a great investment- the choice is up to you.
I recently sourced a period correct engine for this car.I will disclose the location of this engine to the buyer if they are interested.

This is your chance to own one of these Iconic cars before the price goes through the roof.The OEM sunroof adds 15% to the value of the car.Lack of numbers matching engine takes away about 15 to 20 %.So together just about a wash on the value of the car.
Early short wheel base (SWB) cars are getting harder to find.Either they are fully restored and in someones collection.Being restored and not yours.Totally rusted out and possibly turned into scrap metal.And if you acquire a barn find does it have a clean title/registration? Getting a car registered with no title or registration is not a smooth journey.A car you find may be a 912 not a 911.Or like mine not fully restored maybe having a different engine or sheet metal.
There still may be some barn finds or one in your neighbors garage but these are few and far between.Keep in mind there were less than 2000 of the 911 model made in 1966.How many SWB cars have you seen while driving around?
