1974 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa Description
I've shipped hundreds of vehicles between Europe, USA and Japan, with nearly $2million in eBay sales, while maintaining a 100% eBay feedback rating. Shipping to east or west coast is roughly between $600-$1200. Please contact Rinken's CFR for exact quote from Le Havre, France to your location.
This 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 2.7L, 210HP, was originally sold new from SONAUTO Porsche of France. Original option Cibie Rally lights (as 60's Citroen ID/DS) are incredibly bright. The first owner sold the car back to SONAUTO. Second owner 1977-2007. The current and third owner then purchased the car. Fully documented from day one. Original owners/maintenance manual with service stamps, records, history, etc. PCO Porsche Certificate of Authenticity has been ordered and will arrive in days. Confirmed numbers matching.
Current owner had the engine gone through in 2008 and 11,800 km, or 7,332 miles ago with 3.2 hydraulic chain-tensioner update added. Clutch done at the same time. Stainless exhaust. Anytime something failed to function as intended, this car visited a well-respected Porsche specialist. Most work was done at Garage Peyraud. Transmission was gone through and a couple synchros changed. I've driven more than a hundred 915's and this is the smoothest shifting of them all.
All inside walls (trunk and engine compartment), channels, pans, etc are all 100% original and damage free. Only two drawbacks of the entire car, are the color change from silver and rust around the driver side jack point. Otherwise, there is no other area of rust. Front suspension points and pan is perfect, rear suspension points, etc. The only critique is the one jack point.
Original dash totally free of cracks. Leather skins on both front seat backs were saved and reused, though the seating surfaces have been replaced. Rear window tray is excellent. Targa top and seals are all excellent.
For cars to be allowed on public roads, they must pass strict safety inspections. The brakes, including handbrake, must operate as manufacturer intended. Seatbelts, lights, signals, wipers, horn. Suspension, steering, tire condition...everything involving safety and street legality.
Other than the one rust point, this car needs nothing. Recently, professionally appraised at 220,000 Euros or $268,000, in present condition. Any questions...feel free to ask.
