Rare 924S-Special Edition 1 of 500 made. "Club Sport" Produced for US Porsche Club Racing and the only performance specific 924S model made. Faster than the 944, it features sport suspension, bigger front and rear sway bars, lightweight interior, sunroof delete, wider rear wheels, Lightweight manual mirrors and a grey flannel and burgundy interior.
Being sold by a PCA member and collector. Unfortunately, I have a car in bare metal that needs its shop space. I have had the car for about a year. The only thing I did was go through it top to bottom, change fluids, purchase new tires and batt. The elderly gentleman I purchased it from drove it into town form his rural home each month putting only 5K miles on it in the 22 years he owned it (verifiable through the records). The tires still had hairs on them but were dried out. I drove it each week last spring and summer into the office.
This car is a true survivor the paint has a few small areas that I had planned on addressing this winter. But overall brilliant original paint. Has a couple of small dings that could be worked out without paint work. I had planned on wet sanding or just a cut and buff, Car has not been detailed!! The OEM seat covers appear to have always been on. There is a small wear in the drivers seat and the top edge of the rear seat has small holes (very common on these due to the lightweight flannel and sun it gets there). I have sourced the material if someone wants to have it redone in those spots. The headliner, carpet, door panels, and pass seat are nearly perfect. Dash has common cracking but covered. The rear cargo mat had slits cut to allow for a full size spare (Phone dial, included but the space saver spare is back in it). I had planned on having it sewn, but they are the same as 944 burgundy interior. The roller sun shade housing is also faded from sun exposure over time. The rear Konis are a bit soft I had planned on replacing them with some from my 951 while I had them rebuilt. Easily replaced, I just figured it would be nice to rebuilt the originals. If you're a car guy you get it.
Includes records, original owners manual, new OEM Porsche SilverGaurd III cover with lock, OEM bra still in its box and unused, lots of printed technical materials, service manual, It also has a remote start alarm and Sony radio (a pull-out, if you're old enough to remember) that were installed at the time of purchase along with the manuals and all warranty cards for them (just for show, not under warranty of course). Also some misc tools and parts, Unopened gallon of porsche pink coolant and oil filters (Mahle). I was about to change the oil out for cool weather, so I might be talked into changing it to fit the buyer climate, as I keep all oil on hand for my cars.
This car is about as collectable as a Porsche gets with less than 500 around still. (being club racers many were crashed, crushed or modified beyond recognition. This is an unmolested original car that is essentially the way it was delivered in 1988.
Willing to help arrange overseas shipping with full payment via EFT. If the buyer lives in an area that is tough to get good services for detail or interior work. I could help on this end. I have some of the best around right here in my backyard. Again, this car has not been touched...not even vacuumed and looks great. Done at the buyers expense of course. I will remove the silly side crest stickers as well if desired.....I think about that every time I see them (Done by the PO)
