Car description

I purchased this car in 1995 from a dealer in Topeka. KS. The mileage was approximately 65. 00 miles. It was painted Bahia Red at that time and had a partially new interior which included the headliner. arpet. door panels and rear side panels. The original color was sepia brown. The car was Ziebarted from new. It remains a solid car with rust free pans and rockers. I drove the car when the weather allowed; that is when it wasn't snowing. too hot or too cold. I tried not to drive it in the rain but would occasionally get caught out when it started raining when I was at some Porsche event. In so many words I enjoyed the car without trashing it. About ten years ago. the original engine was rebuilt using Mahle 2. 7 liter European pistons and cylinders. The engine case was sent to California to have the case gone through including case savers installed and studs were replaced with Raceware studs. The engine was fully balanced. new valve guides were installed and the valves and springs were replaced. the camshafts were replaced with 911RS camshafts. The pump was sent with new injectors to be converted to 2. 7 RS specs. the clutch was replaced at this time. Red line is now 7200RPM. The car had steel flares welded onto the rear and the body received a repaint to Tangerine at this time with all trim and windows removed for the repaint. The dash was sent to Autos International for restoration at this time. An air conditioning unit has been installed and the car can be comfortably driven in the midwest summers. The car has 6" front and 7" rear Fuchs wheels. The front and rear torsion bars have been upgraded to RS specifications and the front anti sway bar bar is an adjustable aftermarket bar. the car has been mildly lowered. turbo tie rods installed and spaced for bump steering correction. The car accelerates and handles well above the level of the factory 'T'. The car has been driven about 3500 miles since this work was done. A recent compression and leak down test was done with the following results: #1 150psi. 2% #2 150psi. 2% #3 160psi 2% #4 165psi 4% #5 170psi 4% #6 170psi 2%. This is a solid car which can be driven and enjoyed or restored if desired. Call me with questions at 314 378 7262.
