This 914-6 was originally sold in California at Dick Barbour Porsche Audi. The past owner bought the 914-6 in 1997 from an attorney in Stockton, CA where he decided to compete in PCA Concours events on a national level. In preparation, the interior was replaced and the body was stripped and painted in the original color (Adriatic Blue).

In 1999 the owner drove from California to Quebec to compete in his first Porsche Parade. After winning this event, he drove to Norfolk, VA, then across the country to Petaluma, CA where the 914-6 was stored while he was living in Hawaii. He continued to compete in Porsche Parade Concours in Sacramento, Boise and Milwaukee where it took 1st Place two times and 2nd Place once.

In 2004 the 914-6 was set to compete in Hershey, PA for the 50th PCA celebration Concours, however the 914-6 developed an oil leak and the gearbox became more difficult to shift. The owner decided to have both engine and gearbox removed and rebuilt with OEM factory parts to retain the original displacement and appearance. The glass was replace with parts from Germany, the 914-6 was repainted and all chrome was re-plated. The 914-6 went on to win at Hershey. 2008 was the last year for the 914-6 to compete in a Concours in Charlotte, NC where it ended with a win. After the Charlotte Concours the 914-6 was retired from shows and was used as a weekend toy.

The 914-6 sold in 2016; it retains it's tools, original window sticker, books, COA, and records from 1990 to present and comes with 3 sets of wheels and all factory keys.
