Only 240 of the 911 Silver Anniversary Carreras were produced worldwide from January to September 1989. These limited edition Porsches were built to celebrate the end of the G-body cars as well as the 250,000th 911 ever built. These cars feature a limited slip differential, short shifting gear lever and limited production worldwide. They were only available in either silver metallic or satin black metallic. Exclusive interior trim features included silk grey supple leather seats with black accent seat piping and silk grey velour carpeting that extended into the trunk area as well. The steering wheel, knee bar, shift boot, and shift knob were also covered in silk grey leather. A Porsche Exclusive special stitched leather center console in silk grey houses an outside temperature gauge and cassette tape holders. The 16x6 and 16x8 Fuch wheels were also body-colored. Another key element of this special model is the front and rear spoiler designed to create additional down-force. The rear windshield wiper and front headlight washer are all part of this Special Edition 911's package. Due to these differences, these cars are highly desired by collectors. The car really drives wonderfully. It is extremely smooth. From handling, to power, to shifting, it is mechanically superb.
