Selling my 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S. This is a genuine 247-horsepower “Turbo S” with the special edition Silver Rose paint and burgundy studio check cloth interior. The factory made many tweaks for the "S," including the higher-horsepower motor, strengthened transmission, rear tub with rolled fenders, and coil-over front suspension. Only 750 made for the US market. Very low miles with just over 21,000 miles on original motor.
Timing belt, water pump, and full fluid service were done less than 1 month / 100 miles ago, along with other “while you’re in there” items.” All service records available going back to my purchase about 10 years ago. Car is maintained by specialists Bauer Porsche in Oakland.
I built this up as a track car about 10 years ago, prepped to PCA F Stock rules, but have only done a half-dozen events with it. Has a full roll cage, Brey-Krause fire bottle mount, battery cutoff switch, and tow hook. Street legal as-is but I’ve let the registration expire. Needs smog - car is wearing a straight pipe, but I’ll include a stock exhaust with factory catalytic converter with the sale.
I have another 944 that I’ve been racing and a third one that I’m rebuilding, so this Turbo S has mostly been sitting in the garage under a cover. Time to sell onward to someone who appreciates it and will give it regular exercise.
Includes stock 16” Club Sport wheels. Will include a set of custom-offset 17” CCW rims and Hoosier R6 tires for extra cost.
