Car description

1979 Porsche 930 Turbo Slantnose

Dallas Motorsports is pleased to present this 1979 Porsche 930 that has just arrived to our Wylie, Texas showroom !!

Affectionately named the "widow maker" by many, the 1979 930 was the final year for the 911 Turbo in the USA until being re-introduced for US production in 1986. Still carrying the 930xxxxxx vin number, the 75-79 930 Turbos continue to see a rise in value since production numbers were quite low.
This particular 930 has been an enthusiast owned car, through and through. The overall condition of this 930 Turbo depicts how a classic car should be cared for and preserved. This Turbo began life as Petrol Blue 930. In the late 80's, the owner decided to go through a process of doing a Steel Slantnose conversion. He had always been fond of a Slantnose 930, particularly in Guard Red. At that time, a M505 Slantnose was a little of a rarity. Since the front half of the car was going to need new paint due to the conversion, the owner decided to do a full color change to Guards Red, making it into the iconic Air-Cooled 911 color. The Steel Slantnose conversion was done well, without any issues in relation to gaps or fitment. In the years following the conversion, no expense has been spared on this 930 Turbo in regards to service or preventative maintenance !!
