Car description |

1985 Porsche 928-S
This is an excellent survivor/driver condition car with 111,177 Miles. It starts right up, runs well, drives and shifts well -- everything you want a 928 to do. No funny rattles or noises or squeaks. Just had most of the vacuum lines replaced under the intake manifold and some oil breather lines replaced. The paint is and interior and wheel finishes are all original. This car has some wear, but it's expected for the age for a car that's been used and enjoyed.
The bad -- the dash has some cracks, there is a small dent and a few small scrapes on the right rear quarter panel, and the drivers seat bolster has the beading broken. There is a rock hit on the windshield and the surrounding window trim. Once in a while the kickdown switch doesn't work, but it's either an adjustment or the $70 switch that takes 20 min to replace. The insblaumetallic paint and dark blue leather interior are very good overall, but show signs of use. In the quickly rising 928 market, an unmolested survivor car that's been cared for is surprisingly hard to find. A PPI has been done and is available. Fresh oil change and filter.
This is a car you can buy, drive, and enjoy and leave alone (doing maintenance of course) or do a mild rolling cosmetic restoration and reap the benefits of the rising Porsche market. Best of both worlds.
These cars made 288hp new, and did 0-60 in 6.2 sec and qtr mile in 14.7 sec at 94mph (for the automatics like this one) and a top speed of 152mph!. The 'S' versions had more displacement, 54 more horsepower (!) than the previous versions. These are the ones to get. The S4's are great, but have already started climbing in value, and the earlier non-S models don't have these 4 valve per cylinder twin cam heads and associated performance.
Buy it now before the prices are 25% higher next year and you wish you did. I am happy to assist with shipping and vehicle brokers if you have one.
I specialize in Vintage Sports Car parts and accessories, new and used. I usually have fog and driving lights, new vintage style wheels, sport seats (Recaro, Scheel, more) and Porsche parts available. Check out my other auctions.
