Car description |
---|
This solid 1968 911 was meant to be a fun track car but the project has stalled. With the prices of these early 911's jumping we debated if we should continue on the track path or put it back to stock. Too much thinking and not enough doing and we now realize we don't have the time for either.
The cars was headed in the direction of an RS clone with SC flares welded in the rear and SC fenders up front. The body was prepped and the car painted but there was an issue with the paint and the intention was to re-paint it. The motor that comes with the car is a 2.7 lither that was rebuilt and installed but never run. It does not come fuel injection or carbs but the buyer will have the opportunity to purchase a newly rebuilt pair of Italian Weber's for $2000.00 which we will wait to list until the auction is over if they do not want them. I expect that the engine will be great but having never run it I cannot guarantee it and you should assume the worst. The trans is the original 901 5 speed and was solid. The suspension is intact. The front and rear wheels are real Fuchs. Rears are 15x8 and fronts are 15 x 6. The front seats are from a later year (74 if I recall) The rear package shelf is shop made as the intention was to cut out a section and fit it back with fasteners giving easy access to the engine bay. If you are restoring to original this is an easy piece to source and weld in. If you will track it I suggest you finish the job as it makes it so much easier to work on the engine.
The car will come with whatever parts you see in the pictures and anything additional that may turn up. I will post more pics as we sort through things assuming we find anything that went with this car.
Good Luck and Happy Bidding!

VIN - 11830079
Any rust you see is limited to surface rust in the areas that were bare metal and not painted. The car was always in the shop or warehouse so it will be easy to neutralize and prep for paint.
Original rear windshield is included.
